ORIJEN foods and treats are formulated for dogs and cats, with meat and poultry ingredients sourced from federally licensed facilities that must have implemented a HACCP-based food safety system. Meat and poultry ingredients must be sourced from animals that are not condemned, diseased, or that have died otherwise than by slaughter.

Does this have taurine and does it contain glucosamine and chondroitin?

Is it true there is no salt in this food? (Based on ingredient list)

While there is not added sodium, the sodium is derived from the natural ingredients. This variety contains approximately 0.4% Sodium on an As-Fed basis (approximately 0.45% Sodium on a Dry Matter basis).

On the feeding guide it is recommended to feed your dog twice a day, is the feeding guide referring to each feeding (cups) or total for the daily intake ?

I love my dog, so I got this dry dog food for my 45 pound boxer mix and she loves it. I have a technique for preparing this dry dog food that makes it easier for her to digest. I found out it takes two days for this dog food to absorb moisture so I use an old coffee grinder to pulverize a quarter cup with 1/4 tsp of turmeric to get a powdery mixture. I add the powdery mixture to a small mason jelly jar and add beef broth for the liquid to get a consistency like canned dog food. I place this in the refrigerator with another one that was prepared the day before. To feed, I always start with a spoon of pureed pumpkin and add the day-2 refrigerated dog food onto the frisbee. By day two, the dry dog food has absorbed the beef broth and easier for my dog to digest. I sometimes switch and use chicken broth. To feed, I use an old Kong frisbee that she never played with as a food bowl. We love our 7-yr old, 45 lb Bailey so this procedure is quick to prepare and she loves it.

Good quality food

My old pup loves this food. It seems to have good ingredients and has a higher chance of giving them vitamins than your cheaper brand of food. She’s a picky eater

I give her other vitamins and supplements so I can’t say if it helps her with quality of life, but since she likes it, that’s all I care about :)
