What’s the diameter of the top of the bowl without the lip? Trying to determine whether it’ll fit in my elevated feeder, which was a 6.5inch hole

Answer by ChewyApr 11, 2019
The diameter at the top of the bowl with the lip included is approximately 6.9 inches. The diameter of the bowl from the top down without the lip is approximately 6.5-6 inches.

Returned it

When description said holds 4 cups. No way. Returned for a larger bowl and like that one a lot. If your smaller dog eats 1-2 cups? Probably fine.

Stays put on the floor

Using it for my cat's wet food. The food stays in the bowl. The bowl stays on the floor. You can throw them in the washer.

When I received my bowl, I noticed that the bowl was lighter in weight then the first one I purchased back in either 2020 or 2021. I am legally blind and so being that our senses are much more heightened then those with 20/20 vision. I was honestly doubting myself and said, this has to be the same weight. But, I could clearly feel that the lip of the bowl was thinner, and the weight was definitely lighter. They claim that a large dog has more difficulty in moving the bowl because of the rubber bottom. Not so as my 62lbs Labrador guide dog has no issues with moving it around. They claim that the rubber disc will never come off, not true with my last bowl which is probably why I noticed they have since changed their rubber bonding. After only a few weeks of having my first bowl, the rubber started slowly coming loose. I NEVER once placed it in the dish washer as high temps can still cause the rubber to come apart. Just hand washing is what I always did. I do think their newer updated rubber bonded bottom looks and feels much stronger then my original bowl. But, remember how I said I felt that the newer bowl was lighter in weight? I asked my sighted roommate to help with weighing the newer bowl and then the original Durapet bowl I purchased around 5yrs ago. We used a kitchen scale as it would provide an accurate weight. Are you ready for this? The older bowl I purchase weighed 7.6oz and the new bowl? Well, that weighed 6.3oz. So, the company makes the bowl with less steel but chooses to leave their prices the same. I suffer from tremors caused by degenerative disc disease and from medication. I do not like ceramic bowls because they can slip from the hands when wet and shatter all over the floor which only causes more in the way of safety issues for both my dog and myself. I was hoping I was going to get the same bowl made with the same amount of steel, but I guess these companies feel they can provide less while keeping the prices the same. My rating is by far not aimed at Chewy, I love Chewy and all of the assistance they’ve provided over the years. The rating is clearly against the manufacturer. If you are going to use less steel then they should adjust the prices accordingly. The rubber bottom has been slowly coming looser and looser. No, my dog has no interest in chewing on rubber as he has no interest in chewing anything else outside of his food and his Nylabone. I appreciate everyone who has chosen to read my long review. All I wanted to do was bring to everyone’s attention is that the manufacturer has chosen to use less steel in the making of their bowls but have also chosen to leave the price the same. This seems to be the case in a lot of things I’ve seen lately. I hope everyone remains strong and healthy and my guide dog Lief still likes his bowl. Pets are the most nonjudgmental creatures on earth.
