I like the look and feel of the bowl. Sadly, it did not slow down my eight month old velociraptor AKA Golden Retriever.
Our Aussie used to scarf her food so quickly it would barely hit the bowl - this bowl has slowed her down and she seems to enjoy her food more.
Bought for my Golden .... this is very lightweight and did not stay in place. Not substantial.
We welcomed a new puppy to our home, a Great Dane/Livestock Guardian Dog mix. It’s important he eats slowly, which this bowl helps. I ordered the small and I need to order the next size. Cleans easily, good for the dishwasher and the rubber bottom helps it from sliding around, even on an elevated surface.
The quality is fine, took a week to ship, idea behind it is good, but, in the broad range of things it really doesn't work. Your dog food is piled up in a ring and actually for a gulping dog it makes it even easier for them to take a larger mouthful and move on the the next large mouthful. So, therefore it is not right for my lab.
Really like this slow feeder. We got this for our six month old dachshund & it works really well. The bowl is easy to clean also, something that other plastic slower feeder bowls we have had in the past have not been. Also is a good weight.
These bowls are great - we purchased the 5 cup for our three Labs, and 4 cups fits this size nicely. I think they moderately slow down food intake, but if you have a serious gobbler, another bowl might be better. The non-skid is wonderful and they do well in the dishwasher.
Bowl is well made, a little heavier metal than our regular bowls. Medium size does not fit in my elevated feeder/rack--it is just a little too big, but I can set it in the existing bowl and works fairly well that way. It does slow down our dog's eating and she does not burp like she used to after eating too fast.
It helps her to eat slower
My 18 week old puppy eats too fast so I bought this to slow down his intake. But, alas, it had no affect. He gobbles it all up from this dish just the same.
