Is the bottom of this flat or is it inverted to stack with others of the same bowl?

Answer by ChewyJan 12, 2026
The bottom of the OurPets Durapet Premium Stainless Steel Slow-Feed Dog Bowl is flat, not inverted for stacking. These bowls are designed for stability during feeding.

Can you tell me the width of the space between the inside dome and outside if the wall? I have a black lab and don't know if I should order medium or large. She is fed less than 2 cups of food at one time, so depth shouldn't be a problem.

Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2019
The distance between the inside protrusion and the outer wall measures 2 ¼ inches for the small size, 2 ¾ inches for the medium size, and 3 inches for the large size.

Could you tell me the diameter and depth of the medium and small bowls?

Answer by ChewyAug 16, 2019
The Small measures 7.63 inches in diameter and 1.65 inches deep, the Medium is 9.5 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches deep and the Large is 11.25 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches deep.

This bowl slows my gulper down a little, but not as much as a bowl with more obstacles might. It is certainly easier to clean than some of the other slow-feeder bowls out there. It is not at all slip resistant on our laminate wood flooring though. My dog chases it all around the kitchen licking up her food!

I was looking for a bowl exactly like this because I didn't want another plastic bowl. The reason I rated it a four star rather than a five star is that it does slow my dog down enough but if you've got a really fast gobbler it may not slow your dog down enough. This would not have kept my last dog from inhaling her food.

This slow feeder bowl was effective at slowing down my Labrador retrievers. I selected this design over others that had more protrusions for ease of cleaning, and the stainless is excellent, no concerns about the dogs ingesting little bits of plastic.

Slows down, somewhat

This was the 2nd slow-feeder bowl I purchased; the first was the blue star shaped plastic bowl which didn't work for my dog's wet food. This one does slow him down

This was the 2nd slow-feeder bowl I purchased; the first was the blue star shaped plastic bowl which didn't work for my dog's wet food. This one does slow him down vs a regular shaped bowl, but not quite as much as I'd hoped. Works well for wet or dry food, is sturdy, easy to clean, and has rubber non-slip grips on the bottom.

Love the bowl

This is our second attempt at a metal slow feeder. This one isn’t the perfect fit in my existing elevated bowl but it’s close enough. My puppers is a bull terrier

This is our second attempt at a metal slow feeder. This one isn’t the perfect fit in my existing elevated bowl but it’s close enough. My puppers is a bull terrier so he has a special face. This bowl doesn’t leave him frustrated, or prove a challenge to get his kibble. It does slow him down by just under a minute of eating. Yes, I timed him. He eats FAST! :) Hope you find this helpful and get the same benefits from your bowl.

It does NOT hold 3 cups or slow anything down

I feed my dogs 2 cups at a time, so I thought this would be the perfect size since it states it holds 3 cups. Nope. 2 cups of kibble practically overflows! And

I feed my dogs 2 cups at a time, so I thought this would be the perfect size since it states it holds 3 cups. Nope. 2 cups of kibble practically overflows! And I'm not sure how this is supposed to slow down eating, because it definitely does not. I have to order a new slow-feeder (I'll be looking for a more "designy" one that I think may actually slow down eating) so until it arrives I will use this one... but dang. Glad it wasn't very expensive! It IS a nice steel dish, tho. If you feed your dog 1 cup at a time, this will work great... but just as a dish, not a slow feeder.

It’s really nice

Like this a lot. Main thing: it’s not cheap, flimsy stainless. Appreciate the non-slip bottom but my pup (big pup) still slides it around. Not a big deal. And the

Not sure what product description says, but 3 cups of food is max you’d want to put in. Overall very pleased.

Easy to clean and can't chew!

I found out due to necessity that it's not only practical but versatile, as I put water in it for our cat for a couple days while he was sick.

Delayed eating bowl works well and is easy to clean

Rusty, a mini-poodle, acclimated to the bowl quickly and it does slow his eating so he doesn't choke or hurt his bowels eating with it. Clean up is very easy.
