slow feed dog bowl
Rollo is my 85 lb. Pittie. He had awful eating habits and nothing we tried over the years helped slow him down. (Mealtime was like a timed rodeo event twice a day.) Because Rollo is terrified of everything, and I mean seriously afraid of anything, I was concerned about a "new" bowl much less one with an insert to slow his eating. Thankfully he only paused, and did a double-take, but ate his meal on the first try. It slowed his feeding frenzie which has made a huge difference! He no longer beaches up half of his breakfast and it has greatly reduced his middle of the night gassy stomach. The dish itself is almost the exact silver bowl that we were using. The only difference being the insert and the non-skid ring on the bottom. We use a raised feeder so sliding was never an issue, but the insert is amazing! The first 3 or 4 times I had trouble removing the insert to wash, but once I figured out how to twist it out (I have slightly arthritic hands), there have been no other problems. Cleaning after every meal can be slow because you have to clean each little curve and if you put the insert under the faucet, at the wrong angel you'll get splashed. (I don't have a dishwasher so wash by hand). Other than that, we are 100% pleased and satisfied. In fact my bf is so impressed, he has talked about it at his job and several of his co-workers have ordered or plan on ordering the same dish for their dogs.
Packaging Terrible
Received item and at first it was exactly what we thought we would need for our pet who just swallows food. That was until we attempted to use it. The attached packaging was like it was attached with super glue. No easy tape removal, not with your nail or warm soapy water! I give outward hound a zero star for outsourcing whoever packages at least this item. Sending it back unused and will not purchase their items again!

This bowl did it’s job, what used happen in a minute took over 5 or more minutes. It fit perfectly in the raised bowl holder that we already had.
