Can I give this to my pet rat

I wouldn't advise to do so. Not only do Rats not require hay or grasses in their diet, but depending on the type of hay or grass it can be quite dangerous, such as Alfalfa. Rats cannot properly digest Alfalfa, nor can they throw up like Horses, so therefore hays and grasses which are indigestible for Rats can become caught in their digestive tracks and it can be fatal. Rats generally will not chew it as well, though they may use it for nesting material.
