I thought this was just a beep/vibrate collar from the description, but it is a shock collar, too. When I tested this collar on myself, it beeps immediately upon the first bark, so a dog would not even have a chance to bark a couple times. It goes quickly into vibrate mode after that, followed by shock if that is turned on. When I barked and activated one collar, the other one (that was sitting on our kitchen table) also beeped/vibrated, so this is definitely not a good collar to use when you have two dogs as both get corrected regardless of whether or not they're barking. I left them on the table throughout the day and they would beep even when one of my dogs barked in the other room so I'd be reluctant for my dogs to wear these out in the yard where they'd be activated by our neighbor dogs barking. I prefer the collars that are activated when they feel the dog's voicebox vibrate because those don't go off just because another dog barks. I'll return these without even putting them on our dogs due to all the issues I saw just at our kitchen table.

I have been very impressed with these collars. I have small very barky dogs but within 48 hours the barking is at least 80% better. I hear one bark but then silence

So I get a heads up something is out there but no persistent barking. I do have to use both vibrations and sound but I like that these are not shock collars and I have been able to keep them in the lower ranges. There are not really prongs but two raised flat areas. I have not had to keep the collars tight and have not had skin issues. If one dog barks and is not wearing the collar it will set off the other dogs collar if there are in close proximity

I didn't want anything that would shock my dog. This collar will beep and vibrate. It has higher settings but I only had to set it on 2. When I put it on her

When I put it on her the first time and let her out it took her by surprise. After only a few days it would stop her from barking. If you have other dogs the beep is loud enough to get their attention too. She doesn't have to wear it all the time. Inside it will still beep if she happens to bark close to where it is laying. The collar is also adjustable for larger dogs. I'm very happy with this purchase.
Ease of setting it up.

Simple and Effective Option Without Shock

Funny thing is, just having it on the counter and hearing the sound/vibration has even helped with behavioral issues. The sound feature is strong, and I like that the collar itself is thin and not clunky. We never rely on the shock setting, so this no-shock style is exactly what we needed. Plus, PatPet actually backs up their products, and customer service is great.
