Can I use this for 2 gerbils

The minimum size of gerbil enclosures for a pair of gerbils is about 20 gallons. However, many pet parents opt for larger tanks, such as 40 gallons, to offer more room for both gerbils to dig, run, and burrow. It is generally not recommended to have gerbil enclosures with more than four gerbils at one time. Consult your vet with any questions.

Is this appropriate for other small pets like gerbils? Are the wires close enough together to keep a gerbil in?

This may be used for gerbils. The spacing between the bars is 0.25 inches.

This hamster cage is very large and gives our hamsters (seperate cages) plenty of room to run around. Set up was very easy. I helped my 7 & 9 year old with the first one and then they were able to set up the second one on their own. Trays take a little bit of work to get in place and level but nothing the kids weren't able to figure out. Quality seems good so far. We have not done the first cleaning yet so we will see how that goes. Definitely recommend!

Great Cage, Okay Accessories

This cage is great for our Syrian hamster. He figured out the ramps within a couple of hours of entering his new home, and he was climbing the bars of the cage like Spider-Man. It took him a little longer to figure out the tubes, but now he loves running through them. I feel like this cage is very secure, but we zip-tied the top closed because of how active our little guy is, and since he likes to climb to the top, he seems smart enough to figure out an escape. That isn’t a necessary step, just a precaution we decided to take. My only con is that while the cage is suitable for a larger hamster like ours, the included accessories are more suited for a smaller rodent like a dwarf hamster. The wheel, hidey house, and water bottle are all really small. I am going to have to spend more money to replace stuff. Assembly was not that difficult, but the instructions could be better. The hardest part was snapping the tubes together. Once they’re connected, they’re extremely difficult to pull apart, but I like that this means that they’re secure. They include a few extra pieces in case any break. **Be sure to feed the appropriate tube into the hole in the cage before snapping on the connector piece for the next tube as the connectors don’t fit through the holes. The connectors are round pieces that connect each of the tube pieces together.

We love this cage so far! It’s cute and our hamster is living her best life with 5 levels to explore. The only negative is the platforms could be a little more sturdy
