I was looking for slow feeders for my pups that weren't plastic since I've been feeding them raw food. I wanted something that was easy to clean as well, so I thought ceramic was the way to go. These might help cats slow down, but my 15 and 19 pound rescues finish their food within seconds of me setting it on the floor. They're more difficult to clean than I expected as well - they feel slimy in the nooks no matter how hard I scrub, and getting additions like probiotics powder out can be dang near impossible. They honestly take longer when I toss them food in a Tupperware because they have to chase it across the floor. Would not recommend - just get the smooth ceramic bowls if you want something elevated and lose the expectation of your critters slowing down.

The bowl is larger than expected which makes it nice for really spreading out the wet food to help prevent fast eating. The pink color is pretty and my cat seems to enjoy eating from the elevated surface compared to her old bowl. Would recommend to help prevent whisker fatigue and eating too fast!

I bought this bowl for a young rescue cat I adopted. She has food insecurity issues, gobbling her food, stealing food, vomiting on occasion. They are fed 4 times a day to address her insecurity. The bowl has slowed her down enough that she is eating almost at the pace of the other cat. She still eats fast, but licking the bowl clean takes longer. The bowl itself is heavy, tilted, and well made. It doesn’t have a silicone gasket on the bottom so it could chip without care. It cleans easily after feeding. It would be fine in the dishwasher. It will last forever.
