To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

I can't believe the overall rating is so high for this harness. I hope I just received a dud. It's going back. The marsala color is gorgeous, but everything else is terrible. The portions of the webbing material that are folded over and sewn look like the stitching is already coming out. The very edge of the webbing that was burnt/heat treated to prevent fraying (which is normal) is sticking out from the reinforcement stitching and caused scratchy areas against my dog's skin (not normal). Both of those issues I could have fixed with my sewing machine, but the plastic clasp is also cheap and gets stuck halfway between in and out when I'm trying to get the harness open. Not worth the effort. Order a different harness.
Seems to be very comfortable on Marty and easily adjustable for good fit.
Great harness for my Pug/Yorkie mix. Sits comfortably around his body.
Both arrived broken and torn. Thankfully I saw it before I lost my dog.
Wore out my dog's fur underneath her forelegs but this is the best harness I've found thus far for safety.
It looks nice, but it didn't last even day. My dog chewed it right away.
Well, like many before me, my dog wore the harness less than 24 hours and chewed it off. It fit fairly well but did seem to get looser quickly - apparently it got loose enough for her to chew the side and get the harness off.
I loved this harness at first but a couple months later I noticed that it was causing bald spot around my pugs neck. One I got rid of the harness my pugs fur started growing back but she still has spots that are bald.
I've been searching and searching for a step-in harness that is small enough for my 7lb pup and available in appealing colors. This one fits well on her, as well as over jackets, and the light purple color is so cute!
I liked this harness--lightweight, cute color, a little unwieldy to get on our pup when she was feeling extra wiggly but otherwise okay. Unfortunately, the size and texture of the straps were irresistible to her and our 6lbs chihuahua mix managed to chew through it in all of a week. She's a moderate chewer but this is the only "toy" I've seen her annihilate with such fervor. Don't ask me how, but it was fairly easy for her to twist her neck and hook her jaw under the front of the strap even while it was fully clipped on and tightened. This might work for a pup that's out of her teething phase but for now we'll need something much more secure.
