I’ve used several paw print kits like this before, all different brands, and I’ve also worked with air dry clay with my kids on many occasions, but the material included with this kit was very weird and did not work well. The kit was in our house at room temperature for three days before we worked with it . First of all, you were supposed to knead the clay, and I could not get it to move, no matter how hard I pushed on it. Then, when I tried to roll it out, it wouldn’t get any bigger. No matter how hard I pushed. My son and my daughter tried, and they couldn’t get it to move either. In addition, rolling it seemed to cause a kind of pebbling on the surface as ifthe dough was tearing in little places all over. The instructions say to roll it into smooth, but the more we rolled it, the more pebbled it became! I figured I would try to work with it anyway, and I took my most complacent cat, wet his paw, and then pushed it in to the clay. There was literally no impression. I tried again and pushed harder, and there was a very slight indentation from his top toe beans, but nothing from the main pad and it didn’t look anything like a paw print. I returned this item. The photo shows how rippled and pebbled the surface became when we rolled it.

I bought two just in case something went wrong with the first kit, and the material in the first box was indeed too solid to knead as instructed. The second kit was possible to knead and roll out but it was VERY difficult to the point that my arms were sore afterwards, and it also came out looking terrible anyway. The material was covered in pockmarks that were impossible to knead or roll out and making the impression was extremely difficult. If your pet is less tolerant of you messing with their paws they definitely will not put up with this. I would not recommend buying this product.
Absolutely horrible material

Does not work in the slightest. I followed the instructions to a T. The print goes away almost instantly and my cat was way past tired of me pressing her paw in this alien substance. I have decided to use the end of a paint brush and keep pressing in the paw to try and keep the print visible. Such a disappointment, don’t waste your money.
Terrible
Bought 4 of these keepsakes. Only 1 out of the 4 was useable. The rest were completely dried out and worthless. Do not waste your money!!! Chewy I would suggest

Unusable

I was happy overall with the product and instructions. As others mentioned, there’s enough for two paw prints. (Mine were Boston Terriers). I found that rolling the putty in a ball, then rolling it out works best. Also, l had better results using a plastic drinking glass as a rolling pin rather than the tube included that was recommended. It was too easy to have the surface wavy with the tube. The product is very, very light weight and somewhat fragile when dry, as compared to the paw prints l received when my dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. These reasons were why l gave the product 4 rather than 5 stars. Still would recommend buying. It’s easy to use, easy to redo several times when you are using it and the dogs’ paws are relatively clean, although l do recommend cleaning their paws afterwards to remove any possible chemical residue.
Impression material must be old
It says to knead the impression material for 2-3 minutes. This material must be old because I can’t knead it at all. It just stays the same shape. I can barely even
