Pendleton delights customers! This bed is the best dog bed I've ever gotten! 36x27, it's perfect for my German Shepherd! He was on it immediately and most of the time sleeps with his long shepherd muzzle buried deep in the corner. The pocket between the bottom cushion and the bolsters goes down deep like between the seat and back of a human's couch. The bolsters are strong! They don't slouch, but really act as pillows--all the way around. And, the cushion across the bottom is just as strong. There is piping all around the top of the bolsters, which I never noticed in the picture, which strengthens the seams, again like a human couch. This is a firm bed, built to last. This bed boasts that the cover can be removed and washed. We've all heard that before. It's been here about a month and I've had reason to test that claim--not the shepherd's fault--so I delayed my review til after the washing. The craftmanship in this bed is shown in every way to live up to the washability promise! The Pendleton designer thought of everything. I could feel a zipper down deep in the pocket which is never felt by the pet. It goes all around the bottom cushion. So I thought --oh, just the bottom cushion cover comes out. No! that zipper went all the way around the cushion and unzipped SMOOTHLY, releasing the four bolsters. I recommend laying them out, diagram-style, as you remove them, for ease in putting them back in the right order later. In pulling them out, I held the bed up and noticed a long zipper across the bottom. That's how the bed bottom cushion is released. Both zippers were better than the zippers in any jacket I've ever had! I washed the cover only, in cold water and dried no heat. There was no shrinking at all! Just to be even more impressive, each of the four bolsters were also in zippered covers, but I would never wash the wonderful, strong stuffing--so while it was all apart I covered the 4 bolsters and the bottom cushion in trash bags. This had a few advantages. It protects them from any future spills on the cover. It protected me from the complication of getting a zipper caught in the bolster as I stuffed the bolsters back in their places. And the trash bags are slippery enough to make the bolsters and the bed cushion slide in more easily because of course these pieces fit tightly. It took a little time, but not bad and I am proud to say that when I put it all back together it looked like it just came out of the box! One other word. When I laid the "empty" bed out in the floor, getting ready to put everything back together, my dog kept lying down on it. I had to get him off 3 times. He had really missed his bed for the two nights he didn't have it. Oh, and IT LOOKS GOOD, TOO!
