I have had this style feeder for 7 years and it finally got holes in it from the wild parrots pecking at it. It has brought me great joy. The birds sit on the little ledge and on top. I like this model because it's a few inches taller than my other one.

Hard to fill

This is an attractive, sturdy feeder. Birds liked it, though cardinals hardly had a chance to get near it as it was mobbed by starlings. That problem might be solved

This is an attractive, sturdy feeder. Birds liked it, though cardinals hardly had a chance to get near it as it was mobbed by starlings. That problem might be solved by changing the food, but for me the big problem is filling it. The feeder collapses when it's not hanging, so you have to be holding it up with one hand while scooping with the other. I like to fill the feeders inside my shed but too much spills on the floor. Also it's hard to open and shut. I don't recommend it unless you have another person to help you.

I like how much bird seed this holds, but what I don't like is filling it up with seed. The seed goes everywhere when you are filling it, I'd rather have the sides

I like how much bird seed this holds, but what I don't like is filling it up with seed. The seed goes everywhere when you are filling it, I'd rather have the sides ridged. I do like how the bottom rotates and I think it will be a deterrent to squirrels.
