I had high hopes for this crate. I hoped that it would be foldable and more substantial than a plain wire crate. Alas it is not. My dog only stays in because he is so well behaved. (If your dog pushes at all they’ll be out in a heartbeat.) I’ve used for a week now, the latches are a pain (in the finger literally). The crate doesn’t want to line up so it stays assembled correctly. If you move it by its useful handle (best designed part of crate) prepare to spend 5 minutes redoing the stay together parts of the crate. Even if you move it a foot. I would not buy again. I’ll use it until it breaks or I get tired of my fingers hurting from opening the latches.
Bright and Cherrie. Setting it up was simple. Took a little work to get those clasps at the top to click in due to the fact that things were new. This crate is almost equal to another one selling for over $500.
This is a crate with more bells and whistles than I've ever had! It opens on both sides, and the top pops up for more air. It also has a carry case and wheels so we're set to travel. The only reason it's not 5 stars it that it's very heavy and a little complicated to set up.
Received sooner than anticipated. Looks good in the living room which was also not anticipated. Not hard to put together, no tools, hardly any parts.
Bought this because it looked great and had good reviews. Very unique looking and unfolds easily. The slide clips work great. Easy to open the top or doors at either end. However the two clips that hold top to sides is a poor design. One clip fell apart. Was able to reassemble it correctly and got it to work. The two clips that pivot down to hold the wire side panel looks cheap. Curious to see how it holds up to multiple folding and reassemblies.
Very nice crate but no sturdy because the one side folds. Had to send it back. :(
I bought this crate based on the reviews I had read. We have a 45 lb catahoula leopard hound and she does not like to be alone. We put her in the crate about 3 times and she managed to get out on the 3rd use. Now the garage door is bent and one of the grates on the side door is bent so we can no longer use it . If you have a dog that is calm when you leave I am sure this is a perfect crate but for a high anxiety dog I would not recommend. Also the quality of materials used is very poor.
I purchased the large crate for my 8 month old golden. I read all the reviews and decided to buy it based on the fact it was easy to break down, opened from the side (like a garage door), and not an ugly black crate. Not going to lie, when I pulled it out of the box it was heavy. Then I connected it together (super easy) and absolutely hated it. The color was terrible, it seemed huge!, and all together an eye sore. However, my dog loved it. I think she enjoys the garage type door on the crate. A lot of the reviews said it wasn’t as sturdy as they would hope but it has exceeded my expectations on what sturdy is...my dog literally jumps on and off (yes, not in the crate...on) the crate like a goat and it has yet to break (see picture below). Despite it being terribly ugly, it’s a great crate!
We bought this as a condo for our golden retriever pup to sleep in next to us upstairs (rather than in his crate downstairs). He loves it! He knows when he’s in there, it’s time to sleep. We love that the top can stay open - we found out he especially likes that (we closed it one time and he wouldn’t go to sleep). And it easily folds up for transport. My daughter takes our pup to her place sometimes and she just folds up this condo (we call it that) so he has a nice place to sleep at her apartment. Has a carrying bag to help with transport. Highly recommend it - and it costs much less on chewy than at other retailers selling the exact same product.
I purchased the medium 'Other Door' crate to bring home a new Belgian Shepherd puppy. The wheels are a big plus, it's relatively light compared to all metal crates, and it was perfect for travel. It is not a super sturdy crate, and if you have a dog who is determined to get out, it's probably not your match. The light metal rattles, but was easy to fix with a bit of duct tape on the edges - worth the three doors and the maneuverability for my use. The mat that comes with it is, in my opinion, worthless. It slides in the car, ending up a chew toy for my young dog, and scaring him at times. It also sheds non-stop and the small pieces can be a hazard. I replaced it with a superior Kong crate mat. The latches are tough, but you get used to them, and they are pretty secure for a good traveler. I LOVE the three doors, as I use this both in the car for safe containment and with the 'garage' door open for a 'place' in the house. We are now on a bigger size as my puppy outgrew the first crate. I would recommend it if you can get around the few character flaws.
