How long does this keep in the pantry PRIOR to opening it?

The Esbilac liquid has a 2 year shelf life unopened. After opening, the powder must be refrigerated. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 months after opening or in the freezer up to 6 months after opening.
Can I give this to my adult dog as a food topping for their food?

For growing puppies already on solid food, show dogs and/or convalescing dogs: Feed 1 teaspoon (2g) of powder per 5 pounds of body weight daily by top dressing food.
