Description

Ensure growing kittens and nursing moms have the essential nutrition they need with the PetAg PetLac Kitten Milk Replacement Liquid. This nutritionally fortified liquid milk replacement formula is a great source of the vital nutrients that kittens need to thrive, including protein from milk, key vitamins and minerals, plus taurine, an essential amino acid required for proper growth and development. It can be given to pregnant and nursing cats to promote healthy babies and also to support mom’s health and wellbeing. Because it’s easy to digest and contains high-quality calories, older cats or those recovering from illness can also benefit from it, on its own, or mixed in with their wet food. Plus, it comes in a reusable and resealable TetraPak, and is ready to use out of the carton into a bottle, kitten bowl, or as a food mix-in.

Key Benefits
  • Promotes healthy growth and development for kittens with milk protein, vitamins and minerals, and taurine.
  • Helps sustain healthy moms and nursing cats with extra calories and essential amino acids.
  • Liquid, ready-to-drink formula requires no mixing, and can be given by bottle, bowl, or added to food for weaned kittens and adult cats.
  • Easy-to-digest, high-quality calories and nutrients are also ideal for weak, older kitties, or those recovering from illness.
  • Resealable TetraPak carton makes it perfect for feeding multiple kittens; simply refrigerate and use when needed.

Feeding Instructions

Shake well. Refrigerate after opening.

If possible all kittens should receive colostrum by nursing on their mother for the first several days. Weighing kittens at the beginning and every 3 days will help to determine the amount that should be fed. Bottle fed kittens should be fed 1 teaspoon per 4 oz of body weight every 3 - 4 hours. Feeding amounts and frequency vary according to individual needs. Smaller and weaker kittens may need increased feeding frequency. As kittens become older the feeding frequency may be decreased and the amount per feeding increased. At 4 - 6 weeks you may begin offering PetLac Kitten in a shallow bowl for the kittens to lap. Do not discontinue bottle feeding until the kittens are eating well on their own.

Weaned kittens: Feed 1 tablespoon per 5 lbs of body weight daily mixed in regular food.

Pregnant and lactating females: Feed 2 tablespoons per 5 lbs of body weight daily mixed in regular food. Consult your veterinarian for additional advice.

Refrigerate after opening. Discard unused formula after 14 days. Do not freeze in original container. May be frozen in single serving size containers.

Kitten finally started to recover and put on weight

    By on

My sick kitten who was not getting enough attention or nurse milk from its mom began to recover and gain the weight it needed on this PetLac Kitten Milk Replacement. The kitten loved the flavor and readily accepted it from the oral syringe in which I used to feed "Mittens." She figured out at 6 weeks how to lap it up from a tiny stainless steel pet dish. ( I also fed some of this milk to the nursing mom to give her added nutrition, as she seemed very tired. She loves the milk replacement and lets me know that she wants the milk everynight. She is very feral so the fact that she lets me know she wants it is a good sign.) I shook the milk container very well and did not experience any issues My sick kitten who was not getting enough attention or nurse milk from its mom began to recover and gain the weight it needed on this PetLac Kitten Milk Replacement. I do not suggest leaving unattended PetLac for too long. … more

    Very chunky

    By on

I can shake and shake this milk and it’s still chunky. I had to strain it so the chunks would not continuously plug up the nipple on bottle while feeding. Bottle feeding 10 kittens is hard enough!

    Dislike of product

    By on

even after shaking up this liquid there is a lot of thick goopy residue that remains on the bottom that does not get mixed into the liquid. i even tried adding hot water to the goopy residue on the bottom, and it still didnt mix well and returned to it's thick state. the canned ready to serve formula is fine, but not the powder formula. my kittens did not like it either, compared to the smooth creamy canned formula.

    Warning on this product

    By on

Zero stars for this product. This review refers to PetLac ONLY. The canned KMR is superior. This product forms a sediment layer on the bottom of the container. Not good !!! Even if you shake the container before each use. I have tried it twice and both times my kittens did not do well. Container states discard after 14 days. REALLY ?? KMR can states discard after 3 days ( 72 hours ) after opening. Bad product. Kittens are fragile enough without feeding them a junk product. PetAg should pull this from their list of products.

Overall great milk for kittens. Shake well throughout usage so you reduce curds at the bottom of the carton.

    Liquid formula for kittens

    By on

This is the best product for kittens. I tried two other brands this month, but this was the one they liked the best. It didn't clump at the bottom of the container while being in the refrigerator. Great product.
