We support a feral colony of 10 cats that we caught and had spayed and neutered. When the "matriarch" of the colony, who is now our full time indoor cat, came down with respiratory symptoms last year I went searching on Chewy for something that might help. I settled on this and I'm very glad I did. I give her a pinch or two in her wet food twice a day when I see any symptoms start like tearing eyes, sneezing, a subtle wheeze.... it helps very quickly and has kept her from the trauma of the vet (and the expense). It's my understanding that most feral cats have FCV, but not all exhibit symptoms yet remain infected and contagious. This has really been a life saver for us.

Cat with FCV

Our kitty suffered with an FCV respiratory inflammation for three months. Finally, the vet put her on a ten day antibiotic regimen which helped her very much.

Our kitty suffered with an FCV respiratory inflammation for three months. Finally, the vet put her on a ten day antibiotic regimen which helped her very much. I bought this product as a follow-up to the antibiotic treatment. We desperately needed a “win,” and we were so very concerned about our cat. This product appears to be working. I can’t be 100% sure, but our cat’s respiratory symptoms have not returned. I’m on the second bottle now. I crush the granules in a mortar and pestle and mix it with her food twice a day. She accepts it in that form. We are “keeping the faith!”

Helps kitty with long-term FCV

This seems to help our kitty that suffers as a carrier of long-term FCV. He's a complete brat about taking anything and watches to make sure I don't put anything

This seems to help our kitty that suffers as a carrier of long-term FCV. He's a complete brat about taking anything and watches to make sure I don't put anything in his food. He suffers from bad teeth, a growth in his throat, and an extreme stuffy nose. So the growth in his throat makes it difficult to pill him as well. We've tried multiple remedies from our vet and he's had the growth surgically removed twice. These little granules don't seem to bug him and I just sprinkle 8-10 on top of his food and he licks them off without any issues. We even put them on his overnight food in a timed feeder so that he doesn't go more than 4-5 hours without a dose. When he goes longer, he is so stuffy that the sinus drainage upsets his tummy and he'll vomit a little bit of bile. So these also help keep his stuffy nose at bay enough for him to breathe and have an appetite. He's still stuffy, but I notice a definite difference in how he feels and sounds when he's getting regular doses.

I wish I could like this, but

It is very difficult to determine a proper dose, so I don't use it. I wish they made it in tablets like many of their other excellent products. So my low rating

It is very difficult to determine a proper dose, so I don't use it. I wish they made it in tablets like many of their other excellent products. So my low rating reflects the fact that I don't use the product because of its form and how hard it has been to determine proper dose. I have no idea if it actually works.

My cat came down with FCV recently, shortly after we came down with Covid. The poor little guy was miserable. I ordered this and received it in two days and started him on it immediately. It said to put a pinch of it on his tongue, which was impossible so I mixed it in his food. I saw a quick response and after a few days he began to eat on his own and was more active. He still has setbacks occasionally but I keep him on this med and he is doing better.

Didn't seem to harm any kitty, but didn't seem to do much good, either

Took in a feral early November and she turned out to be a carrier of a strain of Calicivirus that my existing (vaccinated) cats are not completely immune to. So

Took in a feral early November and she turned out to be a carrier of a strain of Calicivirus that my existing (vaccinated) cats are not completely immune to. So lots of sneezing, runny noses and eyes in the house. Tried this product. It didn't seem to have any negative effects on any cat but it also didn't seem to alleviate the symptoms to any degree.
