A 5-10 day transition period is optimum. Start by feeding 80% of their old food and 20% of PetKind. Each day, increase their portion of Petkind by 10% while decreasing their old food until 100% of their meal consists of their new food.
Very disappointed the wrong ingredients for this product are listed on the Chewy site. I wouldn't have ordered if I'd known if it had beef and lamb! Our Shepherd loved the Bison with blueberry and quinoa, so seeing this was (supposedly) the same food only with venison instead of bison I took advantage of the sale and ordered a case for variety. When our dog refused to eat it, having no success with a second can opened to see if the first can was off, I glanced at the ingredients on the can (photo attached) and was shocked to see the ingredients were not what the ingredients list states on the page for this product (photo of that posted also). I guess I'll be donating this case to the shelter, and am upset about the waste of time and $$ ordering this. PLEASE fix the ingredients info on your site for this product. Dogs with allergies to certain proteins especially need correct information.
Purchased this item as it was on sale and the listed ingredients did not include anything that my Doberman was allergic to or would otherwise cause gastric distress. Well the ingredients on the label do not match what’s listed on the Chewy website so I purchased a case of food that includes lamb which unfortunately causes the aforementioned gastric distress. Two weeks after my informational email was sent to Chewy customer service and the ingredients have still not been updated. Also unfortunately I fed one can to my dog before noticing the label error - my fault, after watching labels like a hawk I messed up. The food had a distinct odor and texture that was unique for even canned dog food She ate it, did not require a vet visit but I will obviously not be purchasing again.
This food doesn't have the repulsive smell the other tripe formulas have, so there must be less tripe in it. All 5 dogs ate it, even the picky one, but I would only buy this on sale.
