Can the Polar feeder be used without the app? And is there way to manually open and close the feeder (without having to set an exact time window in the app)?

The Polar Wet Food Feeder requires the Petlibro app for initial setup and operation. There are no physical feeding buttons on the device itself for manual opening or closing. All manual feeding actions—such as opening the sliding lid or rotating the food tray—must be performed through the app using the “Feed Now” or “Open Now” options. If no feeding schedule is set, you can use “Feed Now” in the app to open the lid and feed your pet immediately. If a schedule is set, you can use “Open Now” to trigger the next scheduled meal right away. There is no way to manually open or close the feeder without the app, and the device cannot be programmed or operated independently of the app.

How long does the door stay open after the cat leaves the area?

The lid of the Polar Wet Food Feeder remains open for a maximum of 4 hours during a feeding. Unfortunately, there is no option to extend this duration. However, after the initial feeding plan has been completed, users can manually trigger a feeding via the app by selecting the completed plan and reactivating it, provided it doesn’t conflict with the next scheduled feeding.

Is it possible to turn off all chimes indicating feeding time?

This feeder does have an option in the Petlibro App that allows you to turn the device sound on or off.

Do I always have to plug it in or can I just use the battery as always?

The Polar Wet Food Feeder is designed to be plugged in for normal operation. While it does have a battery backup feature (using three AA batteries), batteries are intended only for emergency use during power outages. If you use batteries as the sole power source, the feeder will disable its refrigeration and WiFi connectivity features, and it will only dispense food according to the schedule for the next 12 hours. After that, it will stop following the programmed feeding settings. For optimal performance, we recommend keeping the feeder plugged in and using batteries only as a backup.

The product has great potential, but it's very unreliable. However, it's a nightmare to set up and manage. It's often times out when setting up the schedules for automated feeding so I gave to make many attempts before it succeeds. It's also failing on executing on the schedules. When that happens, I try "open now" option without a schedule and it's failing too. So managing it stresses me and my car out so much, because he has to wait for me to be able to make his food available. The support from this brand is also bad, you have to email them and their responses feel very templated, so it takes a lot iterations to get to solving the problem The only reason I am not returning it and giving it 2 stars is because it's the only option on the market for wet food that keeps wet food fresh without ice packets.

Great product

We got this feeder for our elderly cat to use over thanksgiving. We tried using it for a week before we were supposed to go out of town. It worked perfectly well

We got this feeder for our elderly cat to use over thanksgiving. We tried using it for a week before we were supposed to go out of town. It worked perfectly well but unfortunately the she was not interested in eating out of it, at no fault of the feeder. It worked great and would have been a perfect solution. I believe it was due to tooth sensitivity. Wish we could have used it.

I bought two for my cats. They're usually pretty avid feeders but they don't like to eat out of these feeders. I tried using little stools cause I thought maybe they were too high, tried adding food toppers to entice them. Nothing worked. I think it may be cause the food is cold and they don't like that? If I put food out next to the feeder while it's open they'll eat that fine so idk. I'll probably keep them in case I need them for an emergency but for now I'm just going to go back to manually feeding them.

The font size and color on the app is ridiculously small and light gray - very hard to read. So far my cat is afraid to eat out of it but we'll see what happens.

I think this is a great concept, but this feeder is not for smaller cats. Our 10 year old kitty is only 7.5 pounds and 8 inches at most at the shoulder. There was

I think this is a great concept, but this feeder is not for smaller cats. Our 10 year old kitty is only 7.5 pounds and 8 inches at most at the shoulder. There was no way she could reach in over the edge and all the way down to reach the food which is pretty far down in there for a cat feeder. The noise (it sounds like a mini fridge) was the final straw with her. She wouldn't go near it. Too bad too, because I need something like this, but on a smaller scale. So I am returning it and looking for something else that might fit her size better.

Stopped working once setup complete

Didn't get to really use it before it refused to power up and connect. The feeder is right next to the router with strong wifi so its confusing why this won't work

Almost a great product

This is great however, it's hard to set up, especially if you are a person with low vision. The alarm to let your pet know to come over to the bowl and start eating

This is great however, it's hard to set up, especially if you are a person with low vision. The alarm to let your pet know to come over to the bowl and start eating is extremely loud. It scared me and my cat. You really need to make it a pleasant chime instead of a shocking one! The phone app for this product is good, however it's very difficult to see on a phone it's light gray and just difficult to see needs to be changed to black and white not gray and white for the background and information. Hurry up and make the app for a tablet, I really need it and want it. Thank you

I bought this on sale for $80 because it is refrigerated and I dont have to mess around with ice packs like other brands. This unit is very helpful for my cat on

I bought this on sale for $80 because it is refrigerated and I dont have to mess around with ice packs like other brands. This unit is very helpful for my cat on RX diet that has to eat wet food multiple times a day so he doesn't get sick. The app is great and you can adjust how long the feeder door stays open and how many times the cute dinner bell rings! The unit itself feels very high quality. My skittish cat is already eating out of it and I love that it has a sensor that tells you when and how long your cat was at the feeder.
