The pet libro fountain itself is great when it works. These pumps are garbage. I bought the two pack of replacements because my last replacement died within like two months. The one from this box that I just got at the end of November (it's now December 10) just died after about 2.5 weeks of use. It was fully cleaned and I checked the filter regularly and never let the water level go below the minimum and it still stopped working that quickly. But when they're working, this fountain is great and both my dogs and cats love it.

I bought it to replace one I had for a few years you get two for a good price.

This does not come with a replacement for the white plastic extension piece that brings the flow to the top of the fountain, in case you needed to replace it. Otherwise, the filter itself is exactly the same as the filter the fountain comes with. You definitely want to replace it as often as recommended, as they build up mold if you leave them in too long. I'd recommend also unplugging it and cleaning inside the water's pathway, just to make sure there's no mold. My cats have loved the fountain. One of mine almost exclusively drinks from fountains when available, and it's worth the fountain to not have dirt from his paws settling on the bottom of a water bowl. Because apparently it's impossible to drink from a still water bowl without using our paws.
