This fountain brings 4 filters and 4 sponges included. Filters are recommended to be changed out every 1 to 3 months.

Does it have a low water sensor and turn off when water is too low?

For safety reasons, this pet fountain will automatically shut off when there is insufficient water. However, it does not have a dedicated low-water sensor. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, we recommend regularly checking and refilling the water level.

ran until failure and was never used

Had for six months and I don’t think my cat even used it once. When it was new he sniffed it but other than that he never pursued it again. Whatever, maybe my cat

Had for six months and I don’t think my cat even used it once. When it was new he sniffed it but other than that he never pursued it again. Whatever, maybe my cat is just a freak who doesn’t like running water. Regardless I’ve maintained it over the past 6 months on the off chance he was just using it when I wasn’t looking. Until the day I write this review. On this day, the fountain got unplugged on accident. Before it was unplugged it was running, low pressure but still running. When I went to plug it back in I saw nothing from the outside. Opening it revealed the light on but no water flowing. I am officially throwing in the towel on this fountain. It’s cleaner to replace a standard water bowl daily and that I’ll actually know if he’s drinking.

Fantastically Idiot Proof!

The last pet fountain I bought always leaked; soaking my floor! No matter what I did, water poured out of it causing puddling. What a mess! I gave this one a chance

The last pet fountain I bought always leaked; soaking my floor! No matter what I did, water poured out of it causing puddling. What a mess! I gave this one a chance and let me tell you, I haven’t had a mess on my floor since I put it out 2 weeks ago! And it doesn’t need filled every day! Which is a relief to this old fur baby momma! My kitty babies love the fresh clean water!

Died after one month! Fountain claims to shut off when low on water for safety, but I let it get low briefly to test it and it does not shut off like it claims

Died after one month! Fountain claims to shut off when low on water for safety, but I let it get low briefly to test it and it does not shut off like it claims. Also, the motor died in less than 1 month use. I’ve had cheap water fountains last much longer than this. I expected a lot more life out of a name brand product. Would not recommend the purchase.

I received this fountain with the box damaged, and the fountain put together already so obviously used. none of the pieces were wrapped in any sort of protective

I received this fountain with the box damaged, and the fountain put together already so obviously used. none of the pieces were wrapped in any sort of protective bags etc. I have to go through a an entire return process before refund and won’t get another in time for the holiday as it was a gift. Never had an issue with chewy before and been a loyal customer for YEARS. Disappointed with obvious quality control issue and now had to order from somewhere else

I loved that this was stainless steel, but it broke within 6 months of purchasing it. It also came dented. I should have just returned it when I saw the dent, but I thought surely it was just cosmetic and did not want to hassle with returning it. Big mistake. Not worth the money.

Chin Acne Be Gone

One of my cats had developed a bunch of chin acne that looked painful and like it could become a more serious infection if we couldn’t resolve it at home soon. I

One of my cats had developed a bunch of chin acne that looked painful and like it could become a more serious infection if we couldn’t resolve it at home soon. I replaced our plastic water fountain with this metal one and replaced the cat feeder food trays with just a metal baking sheet to catch the food from the feeders. After about 3-4 weeks, the acne is almost entirely gone. I found out plastic food and water bowls create a biofilm of bacteria that is practically impossible to clean off and prevent from returning. Made the switch the metal and ceramic bowls only.

I've cleaned and maintained it, swapped filters every couple weeks and now just a couple months after buying, it no longer works. Pump lights up when plugged in but no longer pumps water. What a waste.

No handle to remove lid

He seems to be using it just fine however there is no way to take the lid off without touching the fountain itself with your fingers. You have to grab the spout

I bought extra filter because they get dirty quickly especially with 2 cats. Other than that, has a lovely water trickle noise and my cats seem to like the running water. Good over all!
