Still wondering if they would serve well as litter mats...

Personally speaking from previous experience, you be best off with one of the silicone style ones. Some have cute little pawprints, which help any excess little and litter dust; they gone in a wider variety of styles, colors, brands, personal preferences; they're non-stick, seemingly on all floor surfaces; they always have great Sales on different ones; lastly, the material, non-skid, anx lip at thd edges, keep as much littld contained as possible. Oh! & easy wash in a large sink or tub, once you shske it out
