Try liverworst - the kind that comes in a roll. My lab had to take thyroid pills his entire life every day and that worked for him. He lived to be 14 yrs old.

It always worked well in the past, and both dogs liked the taste. When they changed the formula neither dog will eat it even buried with things they like. I tried hiding it in some of their canned dog food so I was finally able to get them to take it, but it ended up causing loose stools. Maybe it still works but we will never know because it went in the trash. Why would a company mess with a successful product that dogs liked? Plus at $100 for 90 chews it was expensive.

We have used Phycox Max chews for our large male Lab for about 4 years now and they really helped improve his mobility and they were well tolerated. Up to now we would have highly recommended them but the last order we received was Pycox’s “New Look” formulation where the chews are now dry and crumbly not allowing us to use them double duty as pill pockets which we did daily. Also over the past year the price of the Phycox Max has gone up significantly making the chews over $1 a peace. Also since we have been giving our dog this new formulation he has had persistent GI issues which may only be a coincidence but have seen this reported in other reviews as well. All this said we may be looking to replace Phycox Max with a different brand. It’s a real shame as we really liked the original product and thought it was very effective.

I have enjoyed using these in the past, and have used it as a easy way to give my pooch his meds. However, the latest batch is so crumbly and breaks apart so easily, my dog easily eats around the pill or it breaks apart before I can even get the pill inserted. I thought it was just me, but reading the comments it seems to be a current issue and makes me hesitant to continue to use the product.

We have used Phycox Max for some time and it has really helped our senior dog who is now more active. The packaging on our latest autoship was different and we quickly realized that the dog will not touch the new formula even cut in half and smeared with liverwurst. The new version is not as soft as the old formula rather harder and crumbly. So although the active ingredients remain the same, if we can't get the dog to take it, Phycox Max won't work for us anymore.

Dogs love them and seems to help with joint issues

Vet recommended this and the dogs love them. I’ve been giving them to my dogs for years and they haven’t had any joint issues.
