If I have a metal litter box does that mean the test particles would be inconclusive?

It is not recommended to use this litter with metal. A stainless steel litter box would not be suitable for this type of litter. If you are looking to just test whether your cat has blood in their urine and are not using as an everyday litter, a disposable litter box or plastic litter box is recommended.

What litter box is recommended for this kind of litter?

All Pidan cat litters are clumping litters and work best with standard single-layer litter boxes. We do not recommend using double-layer litter boxes, which are typically designed for non-clumping pine pellet litter with pads. Also, due to the longer shape of tofu particles, this litter is not ideal for most automatic/self-cleaning litter boxes, as it may cause jamming or detection issues.

It is not recommended mixing Pidan Tofu with Occult Blood Test Particles Cat Litter with other types of litter. The amount of occult blood test particles in each bag is carefully calibrated to ensure accurate detection. If the product is mixed with other litter, the concentration of test particles may be diluted, which could affect the litter’s ability to properly detect occult blood. For best results and reliable monitoring, we recommend using the product on its own.

The Search Continues

I'm looking for a litter that (1) has great odor control, (2) doesn't get gunky/hard to scoop, (3) offers health monitoring, (4) low tracking, (5) minimized

I'm looking for a litter that (1) has great odor control, (2) doesn't get gunky/hard to scoop, (3) offers health monitoring, (4) low tracking, (5) minimized environmental impact, and of course (6) is affordable. It does 1, 3, and 5 great! 4 is ok, but not ideal, easy to sweep up with a little broom and dustpan I keep by the litter box. 2 and 6 are where this litter falls short and it's not worth sticking with it - I think (hope and pray) we can do better. I have a larger, ragdoll cat with FIC so it's possible his urine is just so much that the litter can't handle it. If your cat is smaller, maybe it wouldn't get gunky? I mention the FIC, because it was able to detect and alert me to blood in his urine during a flare up and I think that's worth mentioning.

Low tracking. Not unpleasant odor.

It’s hard to like a litter’s odor, but these “tofu” litters actually smell pretty good. My cat pees all the time because of her heart meds so she’s in and out of the box all the time. This litter is pretty expensive, but worth every penny. The tracking is significantly less than ALL the other litters I have ever used. It clumps well but can remain a bit gooey until you scrape it out the pan. I don’t know if the crystals work. She hasn’t had a problem for months, which is awesome, but I can’t comment on that yet. Everything considered, this is the new litter in the house. This is probably the last new litter we use unless “they” invent something better.

I’m a very observant fur momma and this gives me extra peace of mind.

Issue with sticking to the litter box

Kept other cats out

Well, it kept my make male cats out of this litter box. Can't say if it worked or not as to blood in the urine as none was detected, so i guess that's good.
