My dog has a history of bladder stones and needs his vet prescribed diet and plenty of water to keep them away. He never really drank water on his own unless I ordered him or put water in with his food. But I heard good things about water fountains so I thought I’d give this a try. It was super easy to setup, it had a nice calming sound, and it looks nice. But my stubborn dog hasn’t taken to it at all. He’s a weirdo. I really wish this was going to be the trick to keep him well hydrated. Im going to return so I don’t have to buy the filters in the future.
Both of my cats are very happy with this bowl. They drink from both the fountain on top and the big bowl. I like that it's easy to clean, though after a year the white has started to show some scuffs around the edges. I personally love the light waterfall sound that it makes, but if you're looking for silent then this isn't for you. I do wash out the filter and pump every two or three weeks, and it's been running great for a year now.
Purchased as our plastic fountain is starting to go bad. This seemed like a longer term alternative. Unfortunately it was very difficult to line up the pump in the correct place, and even if we did it was pretty loud. Didn't seem worth the risk of a water leak (which happens if not lined up correctly).
After a recent vet appointment, I was informed that my kitten was somewhat dehydrated, in spite of my having both a water fountain and a regular dish of water out for him and his brother, and feeding them wet food daily. Horrified, I immediately sought to replace the water fountain, which was cumbersome to clean and often slimy. After seeing excellent reviews for the Pioneer Pet Raindrop fountain, I decided to go with this, and I'm so glad I did. It's elegant, easy to assemble and take apart for cleaning, and both my kittens love drinking from the running stream and the spout. Thanks Chewy for another great pet care find!
I found this fountain easy to clean, which needed to be done weekly. If not, a pinkish film (bacteria) would build up. a week and a half if spring water was used. After a couple of months noticed that the clear finish was wearing off of the bowel. Didn't want the cats consuming it, so threw the fountain out.
Our cat is almost 19 and loves tub water but we can’t spend 24/7 lifting her into the tub. So we also have fountains for her. This is a water boarding machine. I spent so much time doing research for a QUIET fountain and am sorely disappointed by these fountains. They are smaller yet louder than the last.
I purchased this September 3rd last year. I had to put it in a Tupperware container to keep it from leaking everywhere. And today I was going to clean it so I picked it up and put it in the sink on an angle and the piece that the wire goes into snapped off and now it's trash.
I bought this to replace my old one. I’ve been using it a long time now and it doesn’t really work the way I need it to. My last fountain was really a fountain and the water came up through the little hole and down the slide. This one doesn’t seem to have enough power. Was too expensive to just be a regular water dish. My cats love fountains and this one they don’t even bother looking at.
I've had the stainless steel version of this water fountain for several years, and it has worked very well. I decided to add a second one, and I ordered the ceramic one. It arrived with a pump that barely worked at first then after just a couple of days completely quit. So I can't use this fountain at all. The spout between the pump cartridge and the top of the fountain seems longer, and I'm not sure that the pump has enough power to push the water through the top in this version.
Purchased it due to it being something other then plastic and the over all quality is really good but you need to clean it every 2 days even if your pet doesn't use it or it will get a really nasty film on the bottom.
