My filter always looks clean yet I have four cats. How do I know when to change it?

Filters should be changed every two to four weeks depending on the size and number of pets using the fountain. With 4 cats using the fountain, you may want to change filters closer to the 2 week time frame.

Quality has gone down

These filters used to be better. Now they shed charcoal all over the pet fountain no matter how many times you rinse them. Cold, hot water makes no difference, fresh

These filters used to be better. Now they shed charcoal all over the pet fountain no matter how many times you rinse them. Cold, hot water makes no difference, fresh or a few weeks old dumps charcoal into the water. They didn't do this for the first 10 yrs I used them. Now every batch does and will not be rebuying them.

Not Really Silent

Due to the design of the pump enclosure, the pump is raised from the bottom of the bowl so the pump starts to struggle when the bowl is half empty. One of my dogs

Due to the design of the pump enclosure, the pump is raised from the bottom of the bowl so the pump starts to struggle when the bowl is half empty. One of my dogs slurps down water so all it takes is one visit to the bowl from him for the water level to get too low and I have to fill it again. Definitely best for smaller pets to avoid having to fill it every few hours

Pioneer water filters

Was so glad I was able to find them at chewy because the stores don't carry them no more they all went to plastic they don't want to do good for our pets plastic
