Perfectly Sized Firm Training Treat

My dogs really liked these treats. The ingredients are great and they’re a great size for a training treat. However, they are very firm treats and they take my dogs

My dogs really liked these treats. The ingredients are great and they’re a great size for a training treat. However, they are very firm treats and they take my dogs a little bit of effort to chew since they’re the kind of dogs that don’t just swallow a treat of this size. Even my golden retriever tries to chew them. They truly are an appropriately sized training treat, and if you have a dog that will just gobble up a piece of food slightly larger than a pea without chewing, they work fantastic. Unfortunately, my dogs are not like that and they work to chew these up so it slows down a training session waiting for them to chew and make sure they didn’t drop a single crumb, but these do not crumble so they’re always disappointed.

I'm always looking for good training treats for my two pups, so I was excited to try these. I'm giving these 3 stars becaus the treats are very very tiny. They would be great for little dogs ( 5 pounds?) but for my medium size pups (35 & 45 pounds), it was like giving them a sunflower kernel. (See photo, treats are about the size of a black oil sunflower seed. Also in the photo are mini milkbones that I often use for training treats, sometimes broken in half.) They are smaller than "small bites" kibble (because sometimes I use that for training treats too!) On the positive side, my dogs seemed to like the taste assuming they could taste them, because they were too small for them to chew. Also, I could carry them in my pants pocket on a long walk and they didn't get crumbly. They held their shape even though I would call them a "chewey" consistancy rather than "crunchy". For my pups, they are too small and I won't be buying them in the future, but if you have a tiny dog, these would be a good choice.

Because they are tiny, they also make a great training source for dogs that can be a little too excited when taking food from the hand. On top of it all, they are made with natural ingredients!

Pros: all natural ingredients, grain free, made in USA; Cons: extremely small for large dogs-not sure the treats were viewed as “high value” by my large dogs, ingredients are globally sourced but appear safe. May work best for small dogs.

Only one of my two pups will eat these. Hence the three stars. My dog that does eat them prefers treats that are meaty so I really thought she would like them, but she did. Our puppy at a few and ended up needin vomiting so won't touch them again. I probably wouldn't get them again. Only because only one dog will eat these.
