Which size for African Grey male?

The Large perch is ideal for larger breed birds such as amazon's, Congo/African grey's, cockatoo's and macaws. The Medium perch is ideal for medium breed birds such as cockatiels, conures and caiques. The Small perch is ideal for smaller breed birds such as parakeets, finches, canaries and lovebirds.

My new baby parakeet like this perch a lot, both the soft side and the sandy side! I saw him trying to peck at that sand a little, is that alright for him to do?

I bought this for my Congo African Grey, and I purchased a Large, which is what was recommended for the type of parrot I have. Waaaaaaay too big-- this would probably be better for a Hyacinth or some other type of Macaw. I'm not returning the item as this is my fault-- I should've read the measurements instead of going with the manufacturer's recommendations, but I do feel as though the manufacturer's recommendations were unhelpful (perhaps written by people who don't "know" birds), so I'm giving one star for misleading me and another star because it's my fault for being misled.
