What is the vegetable oil used in this formula?

The vegetable oil source is a proprietary and potentially variable blend of oils crafted by Primal's trusted supplier. Vegetable oil is an effective component of the naturally derived preservative blend Primal uses in the Kibble in the Raw recipes to maintain the quality of the food throughout its shelf life. It does not contribute to the fatty acid profile, nor does it provide nutritional value. It’s simply used as a carrier oil for the mixed tocopherols and extracts to preserve the product. Additionally, Primal is using a very small amount (total inclusion is less than 0.1% of the recipe) of vegetable oil. This highly refined functional preservative is not considered a food allergen [in accordance with The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, 21 U.S.C. 321(qq), 21 U.S.C. 343)].

My dog is super picky and has a super sensitive tummy and food allergies. We started feeding frozen raw in the beginning but it created huge challenges because he is a grazer and that does not mix with frozen raw. This food was the perfect answer to that challenge. His poops are few, his tummy is healthy, his fur is unbelievably healthy, he doesn’t scratch at all - such amazing results from this food! Side note - if you have an issue with the smell of fish, this can be a problem. Obviously, it’s pungent - but that’s a small price to pay for a healthy pup!

Hold your breath

Bought this as a treat to mix in with her kibble since I can't afford to feed it alone. It smells terrible to me but more importantly, my BFF loves it. Not sure

Less expensive than prior freeze dried brands.

Tuxedo recognized this was a change from his prior food and was slow to start eating it. I mixed it with his old brand and now he eats it just like his prior food

Tasty used for treats
