There’s a size issue with these harnesses. After reading other reviews I decided to go up a size on this harness. My puppy is a 9 month old toy poodle, weighing 6 pounds. She usually wears a XS.. I measured her & orders a small, giving her plenty of room by the measurements. It’s extremely tight on her. Besides that the quality was great & the price cheaper than other stores. I would not recommend it it only because of the sizing guide issues.
We’ve had this harness for over a year, so, unfortunately, I can’t return it to Chewy. Our little dog is only 19 1/2 pounds. We use this only when she is in her car seat in the car, so it doesn’t receive any stress or pulling. We don’t use it to walk her. It stays in the car. I was about to take her for a ride this week and realized that the harness had come apart. The strap had completely frayed and popped apart. This could have been a very dangerous situation if I ever were actually involved in an accident and the strap didn’t hold our little girl in place in her seat.
Rowdy, our almost 9-lb. 11-month-old yorkie, now has 4 of these: yellow, teal, purple, and wine. His first two harnesses had to go over his head and he hated that. We're so glad we found this Puppia harness!!! I will say that the wine color is way darker than the online pic shows. We decided to also get the matching leashes and those just arrived yesterday. The D-rings on this harness are larger than most other harnesses, so it was a challenge to hook up the retractable leashes, as their claw ends are smaller. We managed to do it, though. We will say that these harnesses are VERY well-made and durable. You (and your pet) will be happy with the purchase!
I bought my puppy this in. Small and she just grew out of it so I bought a Medium. Even though her measurements are between the two sizes, it is easy to secure by tightening the Velcro. It is also very easy for her to step into and secure with the Velcro and the buckle. We also have a collar on her as well as a short leash guard strap just in case she gets out of her harness, so the collar is still attached to her leash.
Our little French bulldog is a runt, so it’s really hard to find a harness that works well on her. This harness is perfect! It fits and works so well that I ordered the next size up for when she eventually grows a little bit more.
I've purchased five of these vests. One small when she was small then three size medium as she grew. The two of the medium fit great, the third one was smaller so I ordered a large which was way too big. I really like the vests but the sizes aren't consistent.
Great dog harness. I’ve purchased Puppia dog harnesses for many years because they are well-made. Be sure to measure your dog for these because they run a little small.
This harness is easy to put on Emmy, it fits nicely and she’s very comfortable in it. The clasp is easy to fasten unlike some of the less expensive harnesses and the D hook is sturdy and large.
Finally,! After much trial and error we landed on a harness that hugs the girls and they can’t wriggle out. The step-in design is easier than over-the-head and the Velcro closure keeps it secure around the belly. I only wish the buckle at the neck was adjustable or it would get 5 stars. Now the girls are safe on leash (supervised) in the back yard, and maybe even ready to venture around the neighborhood. Thanks so much to Chewy for being able to return or donate the “not so good” ones!
They harness fits great on my dog. But the straps to hook up the dog leash is way too short. There is no room to adjust the straps.
