I am in the process of transitioning Frankie to adult food and I bought this because it is the adult version of the food I have been giving him as a puppy. I was surprised at how much larger the kibble is. He rolled it around in his mouth and spit it out. I just fed him a little mixed in with his puppy food and added a little of the wet food. I’m sure it was more appetizing, but he ate it all, so I’m hopeful that I didn’t just waste $70+

My dog is a very picky eater when it comes to food. Tried several other brand names when we got her, and she snubbed most of them. Frustrated from hunting for something she would like, I decided to give Purina Pro Plan a try...bingo--that was it!! As everyone knows, pet foods are not cheap and after spending a small fortune on finding something, Purina came through. Luckily, we have friends who also have dogs and we gave the other foods to them and their pets devoured them. All's well that ends well!!

Fed ex strikes again.

Food was ordered on 8 December. They could never get their stuff figured out to get it delivered. I had to finally contact chewy to geta replacement box and then

Food was ordered on 8 December. They could never get their stuff figured out to get it delivered. I had to finally contact chewy to geta replacement box and then today on the 16th the original box and the replacement box showed up to a mailbox, not belonging to me. I live in a rural area. My driveway is a quarter mile long why FedEx thinks it would be acceptable to drop it at my is beyond me. When every other time they put it right on my front porch I have a driveway they know how to use it not to mention all the times in the summer when I’ve got three orders of this dog food sent from Tennessee to my house that covered in ants to the point of where those boxes got replaced and they were covered in ants. I’m beginning to wonder how convenient this reallyis $100 for a bag of dog food seems a little excessive, but it seems even more excessive when it’s covered in ants or dropped off somebody else’s house and the fact that chewy is deciding to do nothing about it but still to continue to use FedEx because they’re the cheapest guys around sometimes you get what you pay for and that sometimes is losing customers I attached the FedEx picture they sent me that is not my address

What stood out most to me is the freshness of the food. It always arrives in great condition, which I really value, especially after having bad experiences with other providers, particularly those with physical stores, where the food wasn’t fresh at all. The quality here has been consistently reliable. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because of the cashback issue with Rakuten. I understand there are restrictions, but this product isn’t listed among them, and I’m repeatedly told it’s not eligible. Aside from that, my experience with the food itself has been excellent.

Per our breeder and our vet who recommended, we’ve switched from all prior kibbles, to this. Our vet liked that the food is produced in the US, meets high quality standards and our guys thrive on it. They maintain a healthy weight between this kibble and dollops of the PPP moist or pate and we’re pleased with the results. We’ve fed it for 2 years and get it at a great price from Chewy (delivered).

We give our Cockapoo a mixture of Purina Pro Plan and Hills Prescription Diet kibble. She will eat the Hills with the Purina Pro but not without. Our vet said the Purina Pro tastes the best of all the kibbles (didn’t ask how she knows that) and our dog would agree. She gets very excited at meal time and it’s because of the Purina Pro.

Okay for my Lab... no so much for my GSD.

My dogs loved it. However, the protein content is too high for the GSD. We had him on this food when he was younger and he was like a kid on a sugar rush except that he never crashed. We had to take him off of it then and thought we would give it another try since he was older and we have worked through his behavior and aggression challenges. NOPE. Really bad idea - we saw his behavior escalate as we tried to switch him over. At 50/50 (old chow/new chow) we already saw problems. So he is back on his original chow and our Lab will enjoy this one. This review says "6-lb bag"... we bought the 35-lb bag so we will have it for a while.

What is Happening with Pro Plan?

Just received my recent 47 lb bag of Pro Plan High Protein Chicken. I can't help but notice the past few orders that there appears to be (for a lack of better term)

Just received my recent 47 lb bag of Pro Plan High Protein Chicken. I can't help but notice the past few orders that there appears to be (for a lack of better term) kibble dust, as in powdered product added to make the bag reach weight. additionally more of the kibble is in broken pieces. I understand some kibbles get broken during transport, but 25% of the bag? At 105$ a bag w/ tax, I expect more. Time to re-evaluate this purchase as it seems to be filler, albeit, edible filler added. However, this is not what I'm paying for.

Excellent food recommended to me by 2 Vets

Indie is the third pup I've purchased the food for. I moved my seniors to this brand and they stopped throwing up and having digestive issues. It has worked well

Indie is the third pup I've purchased the food for. I moved my seniors to this brand and they stopped throwing up and having digestive issues. It has worked well for Indie... she loves it, but she's a rescue and has doubled in size since June. I'm changing her over to the blend for her joints and expect to see results soon.
