Can this item be fed to non-red factor finches (like Zebra Finches)?

This food uses canthaxanthin to bring out the vibrant red coloring in red-factor and is intended for use with birds that have red-factor.
This feed is formulated for feeding 3 times a week along with reg feed. Does this mean all the time or just at molting?

This supplement can be fed at anytime by putting it on top of food or mixing it with water to be served separately. Feeding instructions can be found on the back of this package.
