Expired food-Vomitting 3 lb puppy

Worst experience with Chewy. I pre-purchased my first bag a week before bringing my 8 wk old puppy home on 12/20/25, as it was what his breeder was already feeding him. Only noticed two weeks in that it was expired per my husband pointing it out. Contacted Chewy and the rep was so nice and promised to send another non expired bag for free ensuring me that was Chewy’s fault and that they should have checked the date, and she assured me that this bag would be double checked and not expired. It arrived quickly and after feeding my puppy today, he wouldn’t stop vomiting. The bag had the same expiry date!! Contacted Chewy and they gave me a refund for the first bag and cancelled my auto ship. Now my 3 lb puppy is ill and I have to switch him to another brand of puppy food, which is a hard adjustment for a puppy is dehydrated and now expected to eat something different than he has for ten weeks. I am beyond disappointed in Chewy.

Love chicken free multi-protein and pea free! My growing golden is doing great!

Contacted Red Barn to make sure the Calcium and Phosphorus levels are in a decent range for large breed puppies. It is at the max that I would feed 1.3:1 Ca:P ratio. My puppy is being trained with a mixture of kibble and shredded meat and cheese. With a couple of biscuits, it puts her at the ideal 1.2:1 ratio. It is a higher calorie and very small kibble. I often add portions to Toppls, cover with water and some mashed cooked veggies and freeze. I am searching for dispensers that work with the tiny kibble, since my puppy either eats frozen dispensers or ones she can get her digging urges out on. Putting soft treats can help slow the kibble. My puppy feels great on this kibble and firmer more compact stools.

Ice small bites for my small puppy

No chicken. My last dog was allergic. The vet said if a dog is going to have a food allergy it’s usually chicken & then other poultry

My puppy loves this food. The pieces are small and easy for him to chewy. The first 5 ingredients ate meat and fish which is amazing. I also like that it has healthy grains, pumpkin for easy digestion, flaxseed, sunflower oil and turmeric. These are all ingredients I love in food as it provides the nutrients puppies should have.

I have mixed opinions on this food, but overall it seems to be decent quality. My biggest complaint is that they don’t provide any information for whether or not they’ve done feeding trials, or have a board-certified nutritionist or veterinarian on staff - which means they likely don’t follow WSAVA guidelines. But, onto the good about this food! This food includes various meats in the first five ingredients, followed by high-quality grains. I like the inclusion of taurine for heart health and probiotics for gut health! The kibble size is small, but not small enough for a young Toy breed puppy. The smallest dog that could eat this would probably be about 5lbs, and the kibble is small for an older large breed puppy. I’d say it’s best for small to medium breeds, although it is formulated and safe for all breed sizes! It’s highly palatable - I’ve even used it in place of training treats for my adult dogs!

First ingredients are beef and lamb which I like. I used to feed grain free only but as studies advance it has shown that it is not as good for the babies as we have thought. Opinions differ and everyone will have their own. For me this food appears to be a very good food for my puppy. It smells actually really good! The kibble size is nice and small. My pup likes to eat it. Time will tell the true quality of the product once I have blood taken, however, for now I can recommend this one as it appears to be a pretty good food.

Impressive and Tasty Ingredients

I have been actively researching puppy food trying to decide what to feed my new 3 month old dog. After reading the ingredients in Red Barns Whole Grain Land Recipe

I have been actively researching puppy food trying to decide what to feed my new 3 month old dog. After reading the ingredients in Red Barns Whole Grain Land Recipe I was impressed. The first 5 are animal proteins! The kibble size is perfect for most size animals at any age. The best part about this dog food is that my puppy loves it making mealtime a breeze. I do wish I knew how they process (cook) the food. I reached out to Red Barn, but haven't received a reply to date. The only downside I see, and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is the cost. It is quite expensive in my opinion. I have decided to use this as my usual dog food after testing it at home for a couple of weeks. If you can afford it, it appears to be a great option.
