is the scratch pad replaceable?

We do not carry the scratch pad replacement, they are available through the manufacturer directly.

How does the scratch pad attach to the side? My cats have never taken to sisal but I wonder if I might be able to DIY a carpet remnant for that space instead.

The sisal should come off easily. It is on there with screws on each corner. It easily fits a 20 X 20 piece of carpet. You could easily replace the sisal with the carpet.

Is there a solid board behind the sisal scratching pad, or is it simply suspended in front frame?

The A-Frame is a wooden frame with a wooden surface on which the sisal rests--it is designed this way for durability and sturdiness.

Are there holes all the way through the bottom board? The mahogany bed looks like partially drilled holes. I want to put this over a vent to warm my pets bed. Thanks.

The holes go through the bottom piece. Please refer to the picture included below for assembly instructions for the A-Frame.

Love it!

He doesn't use the bed but he uses the scratcher and I'm very happy to have a side table! Set up took an hour because I accidentally skipped a step. Seems like good

Very happy with the quality! Its sturdy, looks great, and was easy to assemble. I was worried that my cats might make it topple from scratching but its heavy enough

I do worry that the scratching pad won't last or it will eventually come off, but my cats don't use it enough for me to tell how long it will last.

This cat bed makes a nice end table for the living room - it's a nice looking piece of furniture that's great for cats. We put it in a spot where our cats often

This cat bed makes a nice end table for the living room - it's a nice looking piece of furniture that's great for cats. We put it in a spot where our cats often tried to scratch on the furniture to entice them to scratch on this instead. It's been working so far - they enjoy scratching it and lying on the bed which gives them a slightly hidden spot to nap.

I was hesitant after reading some reviews about the 72 screws but decided to get them anyway (I got 2). With a drill it only too an hr to put both together. Well

I was hesitant after reading some reviews about the 72 screws but decided to get them anyway (I got 2). With a drill it only too an hr to put both together. Well worth the effort! These are really nice and my cats love them! It’s nice to have furniture that serves both cat and owner. I’ll be ordering a couple more for other rooms.
