Starting with packaging nice durable, easy open, velcro quick close. It has been a few weeks since receipt of the food to ensure gradual introduction of a new food. We started out giving him the Regal kitten food as treats to see how he would like the shape & size as it was different than his current diet. He absolutely loved it and gobbled the kibble up each time given as a treat a couple times a day. He would go up to the bag wanting more. Than I began mixing it into his bowl half current diet & half new regal diet as next step in the transition. He did not hestitate in eating the mix. So it is a thumbs up, 5 star for us on this product.

Not a win for my felines

The food shape is small enough for any feline, especially kittens. There is a hole in the center of each piece of kibble. I assume this makes it easier for kittens

The food shape is small enough for any feline, especially kittens. There is a hole in the center of each piece of kibble. I assume this makes it easier for kittens to break up as they eat. The smell has an overwhelming fishy scent. I thought that would make it smell irresistible to my cats, but not so. Each cat smelled the bowl and walked away. They had no interest in even tasting it. It won’t go to waste, though. I feed a small colony of strays everyday. I haven’t found a cat food yet that they don’t enjoy. I noticed more and more cat food brands are adding a Velcro-like closure for resealing the bags. This brand has that feature on the packaging. I appreciate when they have that.

We recently tried out the Regal Pet Foods Kitten Recipe dry cat food for our cat, Calvin. He's extremely finicky and doesn't particularly like change. As we slowly started to introduce him to this brand, we noticed he started favoriting more and more. He's now 100% on this one and loves it. I've noticed that he doesn't shed as much and his litter box is no longer smelly (like it was with the other cat food). I like how small the morsels are and I've noticed that Calvin really enjoys sneaking a few out of his bowl and brings them to the couch to eat. Overall, he seems happier and his coat is shiny. His energy levels have slightly improved as well. This is yet another great product from Chewy.com and will be a permanent addition to his dry cat food.

I have mixed feelings about this kitten food. My one kitten is eating it and another one can’t eat it because she can’t keep it down. The pieces seem a little big for it being a kitten food, about 3/8” round, although they are thin, but bigger than I’m used to. I’m also a little disappointed in the fact that the first ingredient is chicken meal, instead of whole chicken, but I do like the fact that it doesn’t contain soy and other filler ingredients.

The ingredients are ok but I really prefer not to feed my cats foods with *meal* as a primary ingredient. My cats didn’t seem very excited by it. They sniffed and ate a little but I chose not to transition them to it due to their reaction. Ingredient wise it is comparable to several ‘high end’ brands so I think it is an option for kitten owners if the price is reasonable.
