Does the door open both ways?

The gate door can open in both directions if wanted. At the bottom of the gate door, rotate the base lock to the horizontal position. To allow the door to swing open in only one direction rotate the base lock on one side. To allow the door to swing open in both directions, rotate the base lock on both sides.

The gate does not automatically close, it needs to be pushed close and it will then automatically lock.
