I use this on my male turkey's tail fan area. Some of our chickens will pick a feather and make him start bleeding and won't stop pecking at it. This is the only thing that works to get him healed up and them leave him alone. I bought several bottles to keep on hand just so we don't run out.
I liked this product very much. I have some aggressive hens and this helped with the pecking. Before this product, I actually lost some hens due to aggressive pecking.
Great stuff, great service, as always !!
I only have 2 hens and one keeps pecking the other's back , which is mostly bare by now. I was hoping this stuff would help, but it's not. I think the other hen likes the taste of it.
My girl that was being picked on, truly is being picked on no more in the same areas! Lol poor thing has new spots but I put it on those and it seems she is being left alone now.
Does the job!! It seems to deter the my quail from pecking each others heads bloody and helps them heal faster.
The chickens pecked more at themselves after I applied it. Ugh!
The item truly helped with the pecking issue with our young birds that are unable to run free range yet. The only thing that was aggravating was that it was opened and half gone. It looked as though someone pulled a fast one when they returned it. The plastic seal on the outside was unopened, but the interior seal was open. I do not feel this was in any way the manufactures or chewy's fault. This is the only reason for 4 starts. The product really did work for us. Takes two people to apply. One to hold the bird and another to apply or rather paint on any vulnerable areas. Highly recommend to anyone with this behavioral problem. Clearly over crowding is the root problem. This is a minor fix till they are large enough to be released. Thank you!
I put this on my polish crested's head and observed for 10min. The other chicks tasted and looked as if they didn't like the taste. So, after an hour I checked on her and the cover up was all gone and the injury was WAY worse. The other chicks had picked it all off. Now I have to isolate her until this is healed. Waste of money and perpetuated the issue. I would at least like my money back.
We’ve got a couple overly friendly roosters whose spurs caused some wing damage (loss of feathers - raw area at the top of the wing) on a few of their favorite hens - this was instrumental In helping protect those areas so it could heal - we have new feather growth too!
