What is the size of the capsule and does it have a smell?

Can the capsule be opened and its content sprinkled/mixed with food? Is there a difference between this Rx Vitamins Renal Supplement and Rx Vitamins Renal Powder Supplement 60-g jar besides the form (like concentration, strength, dosage, etc.)?

These capsules can be swallowed whole, or opened up and sprinkled over your pet's food. They are small enough to fit into a pill pocket. Both the powder and capsule form contain the same amount of active ingredients.

Can these capsules be put in food without cat knowing it's in there? In other words does it have taste? I can't pill her.

The supplement is designed to be taken with food. The capsules can be opened and sprinkled on the food. The formula is not flavored. You can also mix the formula with a medium such as plain yogurt or sweet potato baby food.

Bottle says 1 capsule per 10 lbs. My cats weight is 8.6. How can I figure out how much of the capsule to give her?

The dosage amount is 1 capsule per 10 pounds of body weight, twice daily. With your cat weighing between 1-10 pounds, you would give 1 capsule to them, twice daily.

Harmful ingredients and product that will kill your cat

I looked up each ingredient on this product before I gave it to my cat this product has several ingredients that are not beneficial to your cat but more harmful

I looked up each ingredient on this product before I gave it to my cat this product has several ingredients that are not beneficial to your cat but more harmful and one of them is lethal it's a rhubarb and if you read the bottle it says if you continue to have problems see your veterinarian right away and just continue use of product I would not recommend this product if you value your cat's life talk to your vet get prescription vitamins if these were really good RX vitamins for your cat your vet would have to authorize them instead of you just buying them. I talked to chewy Representatives on the phone with my vet and they agreed that they're going to be taking this product off their shelf because of the harmful ingredients this product only lists what really would beneficial to your cat it doesn't list every product on the bottle and if you look it up individually there are some products that are harmful and some that are toxic.

Restored my cat’s health

My older cat was vomiting and her coat started to look bad. Her bloodwork showed that she was in stage 3 renal disease. We started her on daily fluid therapy and

My older cat was vomiting and her coat started to look bad. Her bloodwork showed that she was in stage 3 renal disease. We started her on daily fluid therapy and kidney appropriate diet but her values continued to slowly rise. After about 2 months on this formula I noticed her coat looking good and increase in appetite. Also, no more vomiting. Bloodwork confirmed that her kidney values had dropped back into the normal range. My vet said to continue and not change anything as this protocol is maintaining her remaining kidney function. I’m beyond relieved and grateful for this product. Easy to pill if you use a pill gun. I coat in butter first. My cat hates pills but now readily submits to her twice a day pilling routine. I think she realizes it makes her feel better.

I'd love to know how people are getting this product into their cats because mine won't eat it in his food or inside a pill pocket. I'm not willing to pill his twice

I'd love to know how people are getting this product into their cats because mine won't eat it in his food or inside a pill pocket. I'm not willing to pill his twice a day with a supplement. I event tasted it myself- yeah, it's super bitter so I see why he won't eat it. Very disappointed.

Great ingredients, but impossible to get into cat

I really wish my cat would take these. The capsule size is too large to hide in a pill pocket, and opening the capsule to sprinkle the powder on her food results

I really wish my cat would take these. The capsule size is too large to hide in a pill pocket, and opening the capsule to sprinkle the powder on her food results in food that will not get eaten. She can smell it, so then just wastes both the food and supplement.

I believe that these ingredients are very beneficial for chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, this is a perfect example of those in the supplement business who only care about making money from you and could care less if this medicine is given or successful. The capsule size is large for cats - I believe this is a number 3 capsule. And the dosage is 2 capsules per day. How many people are able to successfully pill a cat twice a day without introducing a large amount of stress into your lives and harming your relationship with your cat? The contents inside the capsule are bitter and taste awful, most cats will not accept this mixed in food, and you should never mix medicine with food because that will ultimately lead to food aversion, making your life incredibly stressful and difficult. The company could make this in liquid form or put it into a treat, but they don't care about the end result of the consumer and the pet. There are treats and liquids on the market with some of these ingredients that I have been able to get into my CKD cats - I suggest you try those first.

I purchased this as a substitute for the VetriScience Renal Essentials since it is currently out of stock. It has basically the same herbs but the milligrams are much reduced, so it's not as effective. If I increased the capsules beyond 2, my boy got diarrhea.
