I wanted to find something to bring my total to the $50 for free shipping and decided to look through the cat litter. Most of chewys litter is comparable to the litters in stores as far as price and quality. It took me a while filtering through brands and prices but I finally found this box of scoop away that is clumping and has the weight comparable to price that I was looking for. Works great too! We have 2 cats and it's just purrrfect! Glad I took the time to keep looking for bargains!
This claims to be unscented but is definitely Not. It absolutely has perfume in it. Luckily my 3 current cats don’t mind. If my Percy cat was still alive (he lived to be 19) he would be pooping on the floor in protest of the perfume. Buyer beware. I do like the small sized box though, and it’s less dusty than some other brands-still dusty though, I believe that’s just the new trend of cat litter manufacturers-making litter less dusty bites in to their profits.
So dusty and has a strong, chemically trash-like smell that sticks to the back of your throat whenever the dust gets kicked up. I can’t be in the same room as my cats after they bury their waste when I use this litter because of how dusty the room gets and how horrible the smell of the litter on it’s own is. Doesn’t even clump well, the clumps crumble, and the clumps never dry. It does the job if you have no other option.
After trying many different brands i was willing to try this one, but it feels very heavy and it sticks on pan, so i have to wash the scooper every time i clean the litter.
I've given up on "95%", or whatever, "dust free" promoted litters. I have noticed that the litter becomes _more_ dusty after in use for about a week. Also pouring out the litter is still a very dusty operation. Altho' this litter may work as well as most of the others - I will not buy another BOXed litter. This particular package is wrapped in tight cellophane to prevent spillage, I presume, AND it is very difficult for me to lift the 25lbs when it arrives. The handle is a narrow strap and is buried inside the cellophane. A sharp knife, scissors, or box-cutter must be used to free it. Once freed the handle strap has a "sharpness" about it and it can be painful to hold the heavy 25lb box with the handle. Oh, and don't get me started about the "pour spout" - another obstacle to using this litter, or any other boxed litters - required tools. :). I love Chewy!
It seemed a little more dusty than advertised, but I had poured it into a litter box that had some litter in it. It's an old standard. Unscented, dust control is all I ask for.
In past I have received damaged boxes with spilt litter. The last order was recieved and boxed were shrink wrapped and no damage to the boxes.
I’ve been having a hard time finding a good reasonably priced litter for a while till I found this! I’m very glad to see they have an unscented one as well!
Dustiest cat litter I've ever purchased! And it tracks everywhere! Have been trying different litters, since the one we usually purchase has not been available. This one will not be re-purchased for our group.
I purchased my very first box of SCOOP AWAY Cat Litter in 2001 when I got my first 2 kittens. Over the years I've tried numerous brands, but I always come back to SCOOP AWAY. Since 2001 I've had 56+ kittens as I was involved with a couple of cat/kitten Rescue/TNR groups and I have ALWAYS used SCOOP AWAY. The only thing I'm NOT happy with is this is suppose to be "LOW DUST," however, I don't believe it is. When I pour it in the litter boxes dust goes everywhere and I start coughing. It gets on everything it comes in contact with and it is very difficult to get off of my furniture and hardwood floors. I currently have 3 older indoor cats and 6 outdoor cats who adopted me when I moved into my home. The indoor cats track this litter ALL OVER the house. I even find it on my bedding as my cats jump on the bed. I've tried several types of mats that are suppose to grab the litter off of the cats feet and keep it on the mat. The mats help some, however, the litter still gets tracked ALL through the house along with the dust. I prefer the UNSCENTED litter and I think my cats do too. The SCENTED litter is to strong and it most certainly does NOT COVER the smells the cats leave behind, even when they do cover their business. As for the CLUMPING factor, I will say it CLUMPS BETTER THAN MOST other cat litter, however, sometimes it still leaves "crumbles" behind, especially when the litter gets to low in the litter boxes. The one thing I truly DO NOT UNDERSTAND is WHY a 25 POUND BOX of REGULAR UNSCENTED cat litter cost one price, yet a 25 POUND BOX of SCENTED, 7 DAY ODOR CONTROL Litter costs less. It just does not make any sense to me. 25 POUNDS is 25 POUNDS and SCENTED or UNSCENTED, 7 DAY ODOR CONTROL (which it is not) should NOT make ANY DIFFERENCE in the price. There is NO SUCH THING AS "ODOR CONTROL" when it comes to cat litter. "ODOR CONTROL" comes from CLEANING your litter boxes EVERY DAY on a REGULAR BASIS and keeping your litter boxes FULL of cat litter. I will still RECOMMEND SCOOP AWAY Cat Litter to everyone and it's the ONLY Cat Litter I will buy. If SCOOP AWAY ever figures out how to truly make their cat litter "LOW DUST" or NO DUST and start charging the SAME PRICE for a 13, 18, or 25 POUND BOX of their SCENTED or UNSCENTED CAT LITTER I will give them 5 STARS. Until such time I can only give them 4 STARS. Also, if the companies who DELIVER this product would be more CAREFUL, (Fed-Ex/ UPS), I have NO DOUBT the boxes would be in better condition when we receive them, the litter would be IN the boxes, and the plastic handles that are so sharp wouldn't be broken.
