Feeding Instructions
Your hens should be approaching their full grown size at approximately 18-20 weeks of age. Begin introducing Organic Layer with Corn 18% gradually to allow for a slow adjustment to the new feed formula. This is more important when switching from a different type of feed such as crumbles or pellets as your chickens may not immediately know how to consume a mash style feed.
Refill feeders only after all feed has been consumed. Trough feeders provide the best access to our whole grain feeds. Be sure to offer fresh water, plenty of Cluckin Good Layer Grit and you can begin to supplement Cluckin Good Oyster Shell.
Our feeds can be fed dry, moistened, or you can also boost the nutrients by fermenting your flock's feed.

I’ve been buying S&P for 3 years since I got chickens and it seems to be steadily becoming dust not seeds. I do ferment but when I do it’s like feeding my girls mud, there are hardly any seeds now it’s mostly parts and dust. This was taken from the top particals of the bag. The bottom of the container I put them is was really bad. That was the last one I’ll buy
Normally the quality is fairly good. But the last bag I got was half dust. I’m not sure I can continue recommending this product if it continues to be like this

I love S&P feeds, just last bag was different.
The last bag I purchased of the Layer 18% was too milled and my ladies didn’t care for it as much. However, Scratch and Peck feeds are amazing. So is the Chewy service

Chickens love it
My chickens love this food. Their shells are amazing. Not as fragile as store bought. Their eggs are delicious. They seem to be very happy and healthy.

not enough to scratch&peck anymore!
My hens loved this feed the first time I ordered it, there were more whole/cracked grains and seeds that attracts them. Now there is a lot of powder that gets left
My hens loved this feed the first time I ordered it, there were more whole/cracked grains and seeds that attracts them. Now there is a lot of powder that gets left behind, which is more of what I get buying organic pellet feed for 1/4 of the price.

I only feed our flock scratch and peck. I think our chickens look much more healthy than our friends’ hens who are fed another brand organic feed. This food has higher protein which is perfect for molting hens and helped our girls get their feathers back quickly after switching to this. The corn is helpful for the cold.
More Powder than grain
I have purchased this once before and found any of the feed with corn seems to be more powder than grain! Very disappointing given the cost....the chickens by pass
I have purchased this once before and found any of the feed with corn seems to be more powder than grain! Very disappointing given the cost....the chickens by pass the powder, I've tried a wet mash to use this powder up but the hens do not like it......Will purchase organic non gmo whole corn and grind / crack it myself to add in with feed over winter.
