Precautions

Read the label completely and follow directions. Weight your cat. Do NOT use dog products on cats. Do NOT treat with more than one pesticide product at a time. Separate animals after treatment to avoid chance of ingestion. Do NOT split tubes between pets.

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Instructions

Applying SENTRY Fiproguard Plus products at home is easy. Just follow these steps each time you use the products.

Before You Apply

  • Applying correctly starts with purchasing correctly at the store. Before purchasing, weigh your cat. Don't guess! It is important to know the exact weight of the pet to ensure you purchase the right product.
  • At the store, be sure to buy the product for the right species. BE SURE to choose cat products for cats and dog products for dogs. These products are different formulations based on the species and weight of your pet and SHOULD NEVER be used interchangeably.
  • Do NOT treat with more than one pesticide product at a time. Don't forget to consider your cat's age. ONLY use SENTRY Fiproguard Plus on cats over 8 weeks of age.
  • Always be sure to look at the label before applying.

Applying The Product

  • Remove product tubes from the package.
  • Separate one tube from the others.
  • Hold the tube with notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line.
  • While holding the cat with one hand, use the other hand to apply the solution. Invert the tube and use the narrow end to part the cat's hair.
  • Apply contents of one tube as a spot between the shoulder blades.
  • Hold the cat for a few seconds to give the solution time to be absorbed into the cat’s coat.

    Scratching, itching fleas!

By Mildy on Nov 29, 2020

If your cat is as big as mine, this won't work very well. She is at least 12 pounds. I had to buy the more expensive Advanced II. She never stopped scratching and itching with Sentry. Sorry.

    Helpful medication

By TONI on Jul 8, 2020

It seems to help. I have two rescue cats that I have not been able to hold on to long enough to apply any type of flea medication. I bought this and was able to do the job. I don't notice them scratching as much.

    Would recommend

By christine on May 18, 2020

This flea & tick medication works great for both my super senior and 5 year old cats. They are indoor cats, but regularly go out with supervision. I’ve never had a problem with fleas while using this product. Very pleased. I continue to buy.

    Two ticks and counting...

By LillyRose on Oct 13, 2019

We have never had a problem with this brand with our dogs, so that's why I didn't hesitate to buy for our cat. I applied her second month dose and a week later was petting her when I felt an enormous bump on her neck. Yes, a live bloodsucking huge tick. Now a couple weeks later and I find blood all over the floor and panic because I think one of my four fur babies are injured. I follow the trail and find A TICK CARCASS. Yes, a tick blew up on my car, who is now obsessively licking herself to try to get all the blood off of her. Super disappointed in Sentry and will definitely not purchase again.

    Effective for the money

By jancat on Jul 18, 2019

I have used this before and find it quite effective for the money. Though I use a product that prevents heart worm in my cats that go out, I use this on any older , health compromised, or sensitive cats.

No effect on even a small flea problem

By Kath on May 8, 2019

It's been 3 days since I've applied it and there's still fleas. It was a mild infection, my cat scratches and when I look, it takes a while to spot the fleas but they're there, so it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to get rid of but there has been no difference in the amount of fleas on him, even though it was a small amount to start with. I haven't seen any dead or slowed down either. I realize that fleas take over the environment and that I need more than to just protect my cat for the problem to go away, but if I can't kill the ones on my cat I don't know what I'm going to do to clean the house.
