We jokingly call one side of the property skunk alley so getting skunked happens at least a couple of times a year. I keep baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and dish soap ready in the basement for that reason. When I got a puppy recently I ordered this because I knew it was only a matter of time. Yesterday Lennox took a skunk spray shot right to the face and this stuff worked like a charm! I wiped it on and it nutrelized it enough where I could bring him inside and give him a bath with skunk shampoo. It also worked on his leather collar! So much easier than panic mixing the other concoction.

I’m a professional dog groomer and keep some of this on hand at all times, as we get a lot of skunked dogs through the summer. I always tell people NOT to wash their dogs if they get skunked. Put this directly into their coat (use gloves), let sit, and rinse with COOL water. This is the best product I’ve found and works REALLY well if you use it correctly!

I've used this several times for my standard poodle, who still doesn't understand you can't sniff a skunk's behind without disastrous results. I use a whole bottle

I've used this several times for my standard poodle, who still doesn't understand you can't sniff a skunk's behind without disastrous results. I use a whole bottle at once for him (80 lbs), so keep a couple on hand. Rub it in well into the dry fur, concentrating on the soaking the sprayed area, leave it for at least 6-7 minutes then shampoo off. Works great.

If you have a short hair dog with a single type of hair (think pit, Doberman, short hair doxie), it might work better. For long hair dogs and double coats, you're going to get the same results from grease fighting dish soap.

We ordered this from @chewy If I could hug them I would! OMG thank you! The musk smell in his fur is gone!!!! Have this in your cabinet if you have skunks and pets! It’s a miracle product! Even while he was still wet in the bath after I rubbed it in I could tell it was gone.
