The trout is sourced from Idaho. The trout is farm-raised, and sustainable. Many practices at the fishery include: turning waste into fertilizer, producing their own healthy fish feed, aquaculture through underground spring water, and fish welfare. Lentils are non-GMO.

My picky eater (and my not-so-picky eater) love these

My akita (very finnicky) and beagle (anything but) both love these treats. We rotate among all the flavors. I love that they are simple, whole ingredients, which are good for both a perpetually-dieting beagle and an akita with a sensitive stomach and frequent GI upset issues. I agree with the reviewers that the ziplock seal that comes on the bag is worthless. I have an airtight canister I put this into after I open the bag. They keep fine in that. I also agree with the reviewers that my picky akita....whenever I first change flavors....she rolls it around on the floor and sniffs it a bit, and then tastes it and spits it back out...but then she stares at it for another moment and gobbles it right up and then asks me for another one. However, if I am not changing flavors, and giving her the same flavor she had yesterday, she doesn't think twice and seems to like this treat the best (tied with the AKC brand dental sticks). If I give her the choice between this treat and another treat, she picks this one. She seems to have a slight preference for the trout/apple flavor, which is to be expected for an akita (notoriously fish-loving breed), but she does like them all. I think the other three flavors are about equally tied for second favorite. They are a little bit pricey for the quantity you get, but for the quality, it is a fair price.
