It may be escape-proof, but it ain't Hank-proof.
Meet Hank, or Houdini as we now call him. We bought this crate thinking it would "fix everything" but clearly from the photos it worked until he "broke everything"

If you zoom in on the door itself (the photo with my index finger) you can see he broke the bars away from the door. Make your best decision based on what you read here, but we will not be buying this brand again.
Nice cage
I would give it a 5 star but the dog can slip her paws through it. I have to keep a thick mat so her paws don’t go through. She can’t break out so that’s awesome!

Indestructible
We were buying wire crates every few months for our very destructive doberman. He knew he was defeated and has stopped fussing altogether. No more rattling.

best crate ever!
i have an almost 2yo staffy (he was a little over a year when i purchased this) and oh my gosh! this is the best crate i have ever bought. my dog has very bad anxiety
i have an almost 2yo staffy (he was a little over a year when i purchased this) and oh my gosh! this is the best crate i have ever bought. my dog has very bad anxiety & has destroyed four regular wired crates in 8 months so i decided to buy this and it has been amazing! he did try and break out of it the first couple months of having it but it didnt budge at all! he soon then realized that he wasnt able to get out and now he loves his crate! if you have a dog who is an escape artist, this crate will be you and your dogs new best friend.

They have make it to easy for my dog to open it from the inside. He just shakes and shakes the door and the latches open

Serves the Purpose
We needed a strong, fairly indestructible cage for our Doberman puppy and decided on the Smonther crate after checking a number of best lists. We are mostly satisfied
We needed a strong, fairly indestructible cage for our Doberman puppy and decided on the Smonther crate after checking a number of best lists. We are mostly satisfied with the durableness of the crate, but the carabiners that were included to secure the locks are small and not strong enough for an aggressive chewer. Our 6 month old puppy literally bit the carabiner in half and was able to escape through the small front door at the bottom. We had bought larger, stronger carabiners for the main door, which our dog has chewed but not broken. We bought this crate because it was considered one of the top two escape-proof crates, which we needed. Unfortunately not the case for our Doberman.

My 95 LBS dog bent the latches in a matter of a day by day 3 the weld on the hinges was almost all the way detached. Day 5, door was almost impossible to close because
My 95 LBS dog bent the latches in a matter of a day by day 3 the weld on the hinges was almost all the way detached. Day 5, door was almost impossible to close because of the thin metal and bad welding skills used to build it it had bent and by day 7 the door was totally broken off my dog only spends night time in his crate. It probably would've broken faster if I wasn't woken up to the sound and able to scold him for it and make him stop.
Okay Expensive Cage
This cage was order with high hopes. My 1 year old German Shepherd mix is a very active and strong girl. She has unfortunately busted out of two previous cages,
This cage was order with high hopes. My 1 year old German Shepherd mix is a very active and strong girl. She has unfortunately busted out of two previous cages, now three. The vet recommended getting a stronger cage that was built to take some of the force she puts into getting out. This cage was meant to be that stronger cage. It did not keep her in and she has busted out of the food door three times and the top once. The locking system seems to be the issue. It provided little clips to keep the locks from moving, but the locks are easily opened even with the clips on the locks. If I could go back I would not have bought this expensive cage that I am now going to have to rig up so that it may keep my dog somewhat contained. Don’t waste your 300 on this cage. You will be upset you did.
