This heavy "rock salt-like" brand does a great job melting the ice. Basically all these pet-safe ice melters are made of the same elements. Early winter, we bought another brand that was a small light-weight bead pellet that was super expensive, didn't melt the ice great and a lot of the pellets tracked into the house - this wasn't the case with this brand.

Great traction, but too sharp for paws

Works great for icy and slick walkways. However, my pets don't want to walk on it because the crystals are very sharp, gets caught up in their paw fur
