Great food, great service!

I have two rescue dogs. One is 17 and the other 12. They both eat Solid Gold and do so well on it. I've changed to the Holistique as they've aged. My vet says it's great and obviously with a healthy 17 yr. old dog, it is really good food. Easy to digest and easy on her kidneys. As always Chewy provides wonderful service!

Quality of food changed significantly

A year ago I had to change my dogs food to one that was low protein. That’s when I found solid gold. Everything has been ok until about 3 months ago. I started receiving bags where the kibble was gray in color and smelly (kibble is supposed to be brown and has no stinky smell). Chewy was fantastic in replacing the all the bad bags. The first bad bag I received, I reached out to both chewy and solid gold and they stated the gray color was ok. I fed some to my dog, but she vomited shortly after, so gray food really isn’t ok obviously. The inconsistency became way too much for me though and I had to change brands to one that is also low protein. I of course still order from chewy, and I’m very happy with my new brand. Solid gold may be going out of business or something as to why their quality became so poor. Just be careful if you continue to purchase this brand and open the bag immediately to make sure it’s not spoiled.

Best brand ever

I have golden doodles, a boy and a girl. The boy had allergies and a sensitive stomach. The girl is just a very picky eater. They both love all of the different flavors, Sundance is their favorite!

Finally... low protein and calorie He'll eat!

I have a VERY fat shih tzu who needed a low calorie but also low protien diet. Most of those foods are nothing but fillers... but Solid Gold actually has two both of which are fish based (which is his favorite) that we blend into the perfect combination for him. He's starting to shed some weight, the allergies are getting better, and (full transparency) his poo is smaller and healthier.

Great low fat food

My vet suggested this food for my older dog with gastro problems and a history of pancreatitis. The fat content is very low, almost as low as the expensive prescription food. But, unlike the prescription food my fairly picky eater likes it!

a hit with my senior doggo!

Ive been looking for a high quality kibble to help with some digestive issues in my senior dog. He gobbles it up every time it's served to him! I would highly recommend this.

Have used for 18 years.

I highly recommend this brand. Developed by a Vet's wife for her show Great Danes to prevent the joint problems of that breed. She increased their life span by up to 4 yrs. No, it isn't the same formulas she created but the new corp that owns it has not decreased the quality of it. My dog has no digestive, skin nor medical problems as he has been on it all his 18 yrs.

Food is great; Price no longer

Chewy has not discontinued this item, only the size of the bag. What had previously come in a 28.5 lb bag now comes in a 24 lb bag for the same price, which amounts to a rather sneaky 17% price increase. And here I thought I was getting stronger when I found the box easier to lift.

I liked this, my dog not so much

I wanted to add grains back into dogs diet but she has food allergies so we tried this. Her poop was fine and saw no itching, but she ate it while I transitioned her over and then completely stopped once it was 100% this kibble. So it was a miss for us.
