Transition Instructions

Switching to any new cat food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 to 7 days until your cat is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.

Good food, must not be as tasty as it smells

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I switched back to this brand because I liked the changes that were made to the recipes. Unfortunately none of my cats like it, except one and she eats anything. So in favor of getting the rest who need to eat I’ll probably go back to Pro Plan even though I don’t like the soy they use. It’s not made a detrimental change in there health in the past. I shouldn’t go by what it does to myself. Purina also keeps phosphorus levels lower than most any other brand and they don’t use flaxseed which I’ve learned it doesn’t benefit cats like it does humans.

Switched to Solid Gd cat food locally but far more flavors are available through Chewy! Order arrived the next day - less than 24hrs! We are sold and cats love the new flavor, win - win!

Have tried several Grain-Free food. My two fur balls sniffed walked away. Tried to cover them up. This food first time I opened bag they sniffed the air and jumped up on table and put their heads in bag and started gobbling food. They LOVE It. I say do not improve this food. It is perfect for us the way it is.Thank you for making such a great kitty food.

My cats didn't care for this

    By on

I bought this and a couple of other food choices as my cats had gone off their regular food that they'd been eating for a couple of years. After a lot of sniffing and licking, neither of them cared enough to eat it.

    Great Food

    By on

I have a diabetic cat and was looking to add a high protein food to go with his Stella and Chewy freeze dried. The other cats loved it so much I switched them all. Small kibble size, but lots of flavor and seems like an overall good food nutrient wise.

    Good switch from Merrick

    By on

We were originally feeding our kitten Merrick's grain free chicken bistro something. Choosing that for our first cat's food as we were feeding Merrick to our two dogs. With the two bags of Merrick we bought, there were problems with the kibble being awfully crumbly, to the point where Z (my kitten) would stop eating out of her bowl because all the little bits would be covered in sand like crumbs. NOT the problem with Solid Gold. In comparison to Merrick, I found this brand to be on about the same level. Price, Quality, Ingredients. My cat also seems to like eating this food more than the other.

    Amazing Ingredients

    By on

My two cats actually grew tired of this particular flavor, but the cats that hangout on my back porch LOVE this stuff. I guess it all depends on the cat. I know my cats are more into chicken/turkey flavored cat food. But, these ingredients are very good and will give your kitty some good nourishment!
