Solitude IGR 2.12% CYROMAZINE Horse Fly Repellent works daily to help reduce the presence of flies that are bugging your horse. This feed-through fly preventative passes through your horse’s manure, helping to prevent the growth of house and stable flies in your horse’s manure. This process helps to reduce the flies in and around your stable for a healthier, happier horse. Just add one scoop of these tasty pellets to your horse’s feed for easy daily feeding. For the best results, start feeding in the early spring before fly season, and feed to every horse on the property.

Instructions

Failure to follow directions and precautions on the label may result in poor fly control.
Feed the recommended dosage to each horse separately to make certain full ration is received.
This product is to be fed top-dressed on grain or mixed with the horse’s total ration to provide 300 mg (1 scoop) of cyromazine per horse per day or 600 mg (2 scoops) of cyromazine per horse every other day.
Start feeding Solitude IGR early in the spring before flies begin to appear and continue feeding throughout the summer and into the fall until cold weather inhibits fly development.
Solitude IGR prevents the development of houseflies and stable flies in the treated manure from the horse, but is not effective against existing adult flies. *The active ingredient, cyromazine, is very insect specific. Cyromazine disrupts the production of chitin in the fly so the larvae (maggots) cannot develop into adults. Once the fly reaches adulthood, cyromazine has no effect on the chitin of the adult fly.

Fly preventative

I would definitely recommend this. It has significantly reduced the flies in the pasture this summer and I have a couple of picky eaters and they just gobbled it right up. It’s costly but the amount given to each horse once a day is a minimal amount so it does last a really long time. Can’t beat the price either compared to buying the 6 pound option from elsewhere at 110 x 3.3 = approx $370.

Great Solution

We have been using this product for years at our small farm, fly spray system was not an option for us. We have had mares in foal and lactating as well as their foals on this product with not one negative side effect observed by us or our vets. Makes being at the barn much easier. Give it a couple of weeks to work and if you are in a cold climate start well before spring warm up, in southern Texas we leave on year round. Thanks Chewy for carrying more equine products.
