Is there a difference between Timothy grass and Timothy hay?

Answer by ChewyNov 24, 2019
Timothy Grass has a slightly higher protein and is greener in appearance. Timothy Hay is a mix of leaves and stems from Timothy grass, which is a perennial bunch grass. Timothy Hay is high in fiber and low in protein which is a combination critical to the health of rabbits and other small animals.

Can you give this Timothy Hay to a horse?

Answer by ChewyDec 24, 2019
While this timothy grass can be fed to horses, the largest size we carry is the 25 pound option.

Is this only good for rabbits?

Answer by ChewyNov 11, 2019
This timothy grass is suitable for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, prairie dogs and other herbivores.

Dry

I give this to my goat as a treat. It's green but very dry. He still eats it.

It's not that great.

It's not my favorite. There seems to be a lot of stems that are like hard pencils. Not much leaves to it at all. Some of it is sharp. I actually punctured a couple

I noticed something very different about this hay. When I got my last batch it was fine. This time around it was sharp, dry, brown, tan and yellow with some light green pieces. Was very disappointed. Found out from a few retailers this is actually last years cut. Definitely should be taken off shelves until they get new and fresh hay in.

I've been feeding my bunny this for almost two years. I had tried a variety of other brands until stumbling across this, and it is consistently better. Fresh and apparently much more delicious, according to Coco.

This is our first time trying the brand and I wasn’t impressed at all - it wasn’t very colorful, was very dry, and was ridiculously dusty - we moved it into a storage bin and dust plumed out everywhere every time we tried to grab a handful to give the piggies. I can’t believe this is supposed to be good quality - it was awful!

Rock hard, sharp. Not something anyone should eat.

I should preface this by saying that the first meal we got out of this for our piggies, it wasn't horrible. It was still very dry and sharp, but not as bad as it

I should preface this by saying that the first meal we got out of this for our piggies, it wasn't horrible. It was still very dry and sharp, but not as bad as it got. After maybe two days of feeding this to our Guinea pigs and making sure the bag was tied up, the hay dried out to the point where it was extremely sharp. It got suck in my hand while attempting to grab some for the pigs and I can only imagine what might have happened if one of the pigs got it in their eye. We fed it until we had money to buy other stuff and ended up tossing about 1/2 a box. Also we found a rock at the bottom of the cage after feeding to them. Thankfully it was large enough that they didn't try to eat it (or if they did, they must have realized it wasn't food). I understand that it's most likely collected by machines and that can happen, but I don't want to take the risk of my piggies getting another stone and possibly eating it.

First time buyer of this brand

First time buying this hay and it's terrible. It's 85% of the the box is really hard, dry and, yellow. Also, there was even a couple bird feathers mixed in. I know

I know not quality isn't good all the time but I don't want to take my chances again with this. I would have adding a photo but it kept saying my photo size is to large...

Great Value Hay

This is a great value! I will definitely buy again. I have six piggies and they all are eating it. I gave 4 stars because two of my piggies don't like how tough

This is a great value! I will definitely buy again. I have six piggies and they all are eating it. I gave 4 stars because two of my piggies don't like how tough the large pieces of straw are. They prefer softer hay. The other four piggies love it though. It really is a great value.
