The food arrived during the hottest part of summer. The four food packages were packed in dry ice and still frozen solid. The food packages themselves are very convenient. I put three packages in the freezer and one in the refrigerator to thaw. Since my dogs have never eaten Stella & Chewy’s food I am introducing it slow. I used it more as a kibble topper for now. I like the way it’s similar to meatloaf while it’s still semi frozen. I was able to cut it in to small individual servings. The food looks and smells good to me—even better to my dogs. Once the package was opened my dogs were very eager to taste their delicious smelling new food. Both dogs love it and give it a rating of 10 out of 10. I definitely recommend it.

This is my first time trying a frozen food. It came packed in dry ice, completely frozen solid. For a dog food, I think it smelled pretty pleasant, similar to a meat stew. My dogs usually wait for an “okay” to start eating but they found this flavor to be almost too enticing to eat. I wasn’t sure what to do with the congealed fat; it was difficult to mix in and I was worried about throwing off the macro ratios. But, my dogs loved this so I was overall very pleased.

I love the idea of this fresh frozen dog food. The food arrived on dry ice. All the servings were frozen solid. The package took three days to thaw in the refrigerator

I love the idea of this fresh frozen dog food. The food arrived on dry ice. All the servings were frozen solid. The package took three days to thaw in the refrigerator. When I opened the package I was surprised that there was no foul odor. I was expecting it to smell like canned dog or cat food. But it didn’t. I also expected the dogs to gobble it up. They didn’t gobble but they did eat it. It was like they were curious about it, and they enjoyed the taste, but they didn’t scarf it down like they do with canned dog food. Sadly, this stuff didn’t agree with one of my dogs. He ended up with diarrhea. I’m sure this is not the norm but sharing our experience.

Stella & Chewy Fresh frozen Meat-a-Palooza, First, the dogs love it. Second, once thawed it had a skim of fat that we were hesitant to feed to one of our pups with high triglycerides. Once the package is open the food is not attractive and has a non human appetizing smell. We used it as a topper on their regular kibble. We experienced no digestive changes in our pups using the product. Overall I am sure it is nutritional. The food we feed our pets needs to some degree appeal in look & smell to the humans dispensing the product. Side note this was our first exposure to commercial fresh food.

They loved it so much that my dalmatian went counter surfing for the empty package and continued to lick it out after dinner! We are excited for them to try all the other flavors and see which one is their favorite! I love that S&C uses such great ingredients and I feel safe feeding it to my dogs. I normally feed my dog kibble followed by a third of a can of Kirkland dog food. I decided to substitute the Stella and Chewy's Fresh Made Frozen Fresh Grain-Free Meat-a-Palooza Dog Food as a treat and boy, did it disappear fast! It looks like meatloaf for humans, and I suspect it tastes as good. Her bowl was empty really fast, good to the last drop.

I like the fact that this is human grade food, the color and texture is what I would expect with this type of product and it does not have a strong or offensive odor like some similar products. Stella and Chewy products are known for their quality and this item is no different. However, the cost of this type of food is cost prohibitive for me.

It had a small ring of meat fat at the top, which showed me it was unprocessed meat and that impressed me. We’ve used Stella and chewy products for three years. They are high quality and good products. Made with quality and our pets have done well on them.
