Something's not right

I opened the can and the pate was relatively dry and almost sitting at the top of can like there was air under it. Once I stuck the fork in, the pate went down to

I opened the can and the pate was relatively dry and almost sitting at the top of can like there was air under it. Once I stuck the fork in, the pate went down to the bottom of the can. I thought it might be just the one can was messed up so I opened a second can and same issue. Not sure if something went wrong at the factory but the dryness and trapped air underneath definitely sent of warning signs. I can't feed it to my cats. Unfortunately, I bought 24 cans so I have 22 cans of defective cat food that I wasted my money on. I purchased the Stella and chewy variety pack and didn't have this issue.
